Coat Color Pictures

I'm working on some of the pictures so I'm gonna post some for feedback. Let me know how things need adjusted! :D [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/thirdpeppermint/Horse%20Colors/c…] Here's how it looks bayified: [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/thirdpeppermint/Horse%20Colors/b…] Palominofied [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/thirdpeppermint/Horse%20Colors/p…] And dunified: [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/thirdpeppermint/Horse%20Colors/r…] Thoughts?

I think the dunskin is fine. Some have factor that loud. The only thing I'd personally change is lighten the face mask considerably on that one (I have no problem with the shoulder bars though).

I say the prlprl black is dead on except for the hooves (the redo you did on the buckskin pearl hooves might be right on this one as well).

I like the yellow of the dunskin, and that black pearl looks good too!!!!

I know not all of them have it, but a lot of dunskins have frosting? Is it common enough to have on the dunskin pic?

They look great. The only thing that I can think of on the duns (which is being very nit-picky) is that dun tends to 'dull' the shine a bit because of the way it deposits the melanin on the underside of hair shafts. It is not that they don't have a shine, just more subtle than most other colors.

Okay, I finally have more time to work on these again. I hate being busy... When I was running through the pictures I noticed that I don't have a decent one for heterozygous sabino 1. I still have the original that some people like and some people don't like, but I'd like to make sure there isn't a better example out there! So, any sabino 1 suggestions (heterozygous).

I'm running through a list of what I have and don't have:
Chestnut, black, seal brown, bay, palomino, buckskin, smoky brown, smoky black, cremello, perlino, smoky cream
All the white patterns (white, rabicano, roan, max sabino, frame, tobiano, homozygous and heterozygous splash, homozygous and heterozygous leopard, and grey)
I also have buckskin dun, palomino dun, chestnut dun, black silver, and the double dilute duns.

Last time I checked I was working though the pearls.

I need to do some buckskin silvers and some smoky black/brown silvers.

What else am I missing or do I need to backtrack on?

Danni Sun, 07/25/2010 - 18:27

Yeh there's a big range with the silver buckskins isn't there, I guess I'd have the points more chocolate and maybe the tail just slightly lighter than what you have got. I mean we don't show a silver bay example where the silver dilution isn't very obvious do we? So I guess if you are going to show a silver buckskin, you show the more obvious expression?

Oh for hetero sb1 I personally think put something like this mare

[img]http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/2388…]

I know they can be much more roany, plus they can be much less roany (like not at all LOL!). But I think that mare is a good inbetween to show sb1?

Danni Sun, 07/25/2010 - 20:44

Not necessarily.... If the body colour was that light, then I'd assume they'd be that colour without the silver?

RiddleMeThis Sun, 07/25/2010 - 22:36
Man, are all silver buckskins lighter than regular buckskins?
No, some look EXACTLY like regular buckskins.

accphotography Wed, 07/28/2010 - 16:35

The gold cream looks good. If I had to nitpick the silver buckskin I'd say I'd expect the legs to be more faded and chocolatier... but again it is sooo subjective.

Third Peppermint Wed, 07/28/2010 - 17:48

I'm glad it's accurate because it's a pain trying to match colors! The original silver buckskin legs were the same layer group as the silver black and silver bay, but that goes to show how one layer can affect one color correctly and another incorrectly.

And speaking of combos, does anyone have an good pics of a double dilute champagne?

accphotography Wed, 07/28/2010 - 19:50

A homozygous champagne or a homozygous cream with champagne? I'm almost certain I can point you to both.

Third Peppermint Wed, 07/28/2010 - 20:02

Actually both would be good. Is there much of a difference between heterozygous and homozygous champagne?

accphotography Wed, 07/28/2010 - 21:19

IMO YES! Homozygous champagnes generally have much pinker skin and are paler overall.

Here's a fantastic example of a homozygous champagne (the first 5 photos obviously):

And a homozygous cream with champagne (no visible difference):

Is that super gorgeous homozygous champagne horse black based? Also, are those eyes typical of homozygous champagne, or is he just extra pretty?
