Dun or not?

Re: Dun or not?
Sorry it took me so long.
OP horse is purebred thoroughbred.
His sire is the cremello Guaranteed Gold.

And according to Donna from True Colours Farm his dam is just a plain bay. The only photo of her I can find is in the op horses foal photo

His owner IS going to test him, so the results will be interesting to see.
Re: Dun or not?
The sire is cremello so there is no need for the dam to be a smokey black. Not only that her pedigree doesn't support cream.
I thought the dam's face looked bay. *shrug* Donna says she is "definitely bay, not even brown".
If it IS dun, it will be the first dun ever found in Thoroughbreds. I'm not saying it's impossible, just highly unlikely. I would like to see him tested for dun (blind).
Re: Dun or not?
Oh sorry!!!!! I thought we talked about the stallion ----- I´m a little bit flustered at the moment.
Yes, the foal looks like a 100% Buckskin to me, too.
Here a pic of another foal - coloured out beautifully --- mother cremello, father wild bay.
She is a bit darker then the above foal is -- think it will be lighter then her when grown up.
At the age of 3 weeks

The original horse doesn't appear to me as Redbased either. I'd say he's Buckskin...or Dunskin or Dun......
Well??? :D
