Re: Two Colors Of Spots
THAT was one of THE ones I was thinking of when I said that. I couldn't remember where on earth I'd seen it though. Thanks Lipi! Is he known to be palomino for sure? In his case, since it's whole body, it could be just sooty. I know one of the Appy breeding members here has a palomino leopard with a few random dark spots.
Re: Two Colors Of Spots
Wouldn't you call that the result of sooty? On both the palomino and the Bay leopard in the OP.
The lighter golden spots, I'm not sure where they come from but the travel. A seminar I went to said it was thought they were caused by a copper deficiency.
We had a chestnut leopard foal that when he got older (year or so) he'd develop a light spot on his neck. He's spots would also move on him.
Re: Two Colors Of Spots
Those photos on those links are now gone (got "member no longer active"), so I'm not quite sure what the spots were like, however, apps can have what are known as "sunspots" (which are light/pali-sort-of-looking spots) and can also have spots that don't "match" the base colour (i.e., chestnut/bay leopard with red and black spots on torso. Cause currently unknown.

I think that boy may belong to a member here. That or she has one VERY similar.
