Sooty Palomino

Since the dam is a cremello (below), this filly must be a sooty Palomino: http://www.paradisepasofinos.com/Scarlett.htm

Double cream can make any base color look white. Also the light horse with a dark background can cause cameras to bleach out the horse more than it really is. I wonder if she has been gene tested. Either way the color really goes it's neat.

I agree, that filly looks smokey black to me as well....but we have seen some seriously dark palis, so anything is possible.

Yes, but not with those legs- Smoky Black, when it shows as obviously as this, seems to have those dun like legs, whereas Palomino, even when dark, tends not to (although, of course, if it is a very dark Dunalino you would not see the dorsal and you would get the legs- why the hell don't these people just test the copulating horses???)

This is my filly who is a Smokey Black (got results today) She is also H/Z for Black.

She was born black but with fawn coloured tinges around her body. Her eyes were a grey blue colour that then changed to brown at about 6 months.

Here she is as a newborn

This was taken during the winter - you would think she was bay. But her coat really gets badly sunbleached and her mane was nearly blonde this summer

Then a pic from this Summer (not great its from the iphone)
