Introducing myself...

Re: Introducing myself...
Hi and welcome to the forum- It's great to have new members!
Very pretty fillies you have there. If they were both mine I'd test for Extension and Agouti that would tell me what foal colours they could produce.
I have seen a sock like that before on a Chestnut non Grey mare- If she's Grey I'd contribute to it being that. Sometimes Grey does funky things. Your filly looks Roan, (though there is no test for that yet) possibly Grey though it's hard to tell if she is or not- Do you have foal photos?
Re: Introducing myself...
Hello NE texas from NW louisiana! *waves across state line*
I have a grey filly that I didn't want to be grey, lol! She was born jet black though and then didn't start really showing grey (just sabino ticking) till fairly recently, probably when she was about 2.5 years. It's slowed down again though, but I'm excited about the spring too! I was out with a shedding stone the other day trying to speed up the process (shame on me!)

Welcome Pamela, Welcome to the forum. You have some beautiful fillies. :flower
I, too, am very familiar with marestare - I have spend most of my days the last two weeks watching "mare movies"...seen some awesome deliveries and missed even more. (Where are those eyelid toothpicks? )
Re: Introducing myself...
Here's another wave from just across the state line, this time from Oklahoma. :-h
I'm in McCurtain County which borders Texas on the south and Arkansas on the east. Where are you located?
*HI* I'm about on hour to an 1 1/2 hrs south of Texarkana. Close to Marshall. Know the area??

Yes, I've been through there several times, but not recently.
Re: Introducing myself...
Songcatcher,
One of these days I'd love to make a trip over to your place and see your minis in person. We live north of Fort Smith but my Dad lives about 20 miles west of Idabel.
Daylene
20 miles west of Idabel? I can probably throw a rock to his house from here. I'm just on the west side of Valliant and about a mile north of the paper mill. What is your Dad's name? I may know him.
Re: Introducing myself...
Oh lol my other west...I meant east
He lives about 3 miles from the Arkansas line a bit North and East of Idabel.
I had 2 uncles and a cousin that used to work at the paper mill. They are all retired now though.
My dad works at the paper mill in Ashdown, AR. His name is Roger Shelton. If you ever go to any of the basketball games in the county you probably know him :laugh1

The name Shelton rings a bell, but I can't place it for certain. My wife goes to lots of ball games while I stay home and take care of the horses. :whip
If you ever get the chance, come by. We both teach school. Our phone number is on our website. :coffee
Re: Introducing myself...
Oh & here's her wanna be sock

Here you can see it at a different angle
Has anyone ever seen gray present in this way before?

She was born with it but it was a light color then went to gray.
And check out this on her other leg
Can't wait till she sheds out this spring.
