Sims 3 Pets has horses

Just FWI. If you're one of those people who happens to be interested in games.

Aaahhh, those are awesome. Almost makes me tempted to go dig out my PC so I can check the demo out. I'm trying to be patient, though...

I like how I thought I recognized some horses, and then I read your blog post. :D

Threnody Mon, 10/03/2011 - 12:29

 Lol, glad you recognized some of them! My friend showed me that you can use the breeding feature in the demo. O.o It mashes things together and has no genetic accuracy but it's fun!

Breeding example I posted on HGS and transferred here. I'm sorry this is too fun.

You can breed them in the demo. If you have two animals of the opposite gender of the same species you can click the binki in the create a pet tab. The game really just mixes both parents together in the offspring to varying degrees.

I have an example of a breeding between Rainbow Dash and Dr. Whooves from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. It's blasphemy I know. :P

Rainbow Dash

Dr. Whooves

Foal #1 looks like a mash between both parents.

Foal #2 looks exactly like Rainbow Dash but inherited Dr. Whooves eyes.

It does the same with more realistic colors too. People who know actual genetics might get twitchy. *.*

RDR seriously had one of the *best* horse models and movements, and I absolutely ADORE that game, the ending brought tears to my eyes. I've never been a fan of the sims though, I always got really bored :|

Red Dead Redemption, a western games of sorts with an AMAZING story, came out rather recently? If I recall. Its like if Oblivion and the wild west had a beautiful lovechild, that was a gunslinger. I mean even if you don't care for games *that* much, I'd still highly recommend playing RDR. If it was a book, I'd read the hell out of it.

YES, I agree with Billy about RDR. One of my favorite games and has some of the best horse models and equine animations in gaming. Their muscles stretch and bunch and they automatically change leads!

In RDR Undead nightmare you are fighting zombies in the old west and you can tame zombie horses. The anatomy and placement of everything is correct from bones to tendons. So much detail was put into them. If you go into a body of water the horse can walk in, without drowning, and then focus the camera at the tip of the horse's mouth the camera goes through the muzzle and you can see canines and teeth the animators put in the model that you never actually see during gameplay. But they're there.

The ending of RDR made me cry too and the story is great. They really get you invested in the plot and characters. John Marsden is awesome. Since we're talking about lovechildern he always reminded me of a combination between Chuck Norris, Jonah Hex and Wolverine (Especially with how the man can take a bullet).

Also, I just got the re-release of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus for PS3. So neat! ^_^

Oh, Read Dead Redemption, my son has that game lol. I've never played it but I do agree the models are very good.

So, I got Sims 3 Pets last night. For the record the xbox version DOES NOT have horses. Luckily, through the magic of the internet, I just got it for my computer and it was fun.

The genetics are not realistic, but they are hilarious. I had a bay horse with three white stockings and a white blaze, and I crossed her with an all white stallion, and ended up with a white colt with four black legs, three of which had white stockings, and a big brown splotch right on his butt. For some reason I'm okay with this. :rofl

Anyway, other good points: I made a person that loved horses and the first thing she did when she saw a horse was clap her hands all excitedly. Then she got on backwards. Also, whenever the horse pees it blurs the back half for modesty and it's VERY cute when they play with the toy ball. Like, plopping on it or throwing it about.

I give it two thumbs up for hilariousness and adorableness. I also give it two thumbs up for uniqueness of inheritance of appearance. Also for having Andalusian and Akhal Teke (among other) preset breeds. And yes, the Andalusian is grey and has a long flowy mane and tail.

I can't wait to get mine! I have to replace my PC, it's dying and won't play games, and then I will be in the pony breeding business. It's ok to breed for colour in Sims right?? :rofl

I need to get my copy soon! I did another post on the demo. I made My Little Ponies touch on the genetics and have the Sims 3 Pets commercial that was narrated by Randall. Plus some other randomness :P. I can see why the genetics are the way they are. The rant is after the puggle.

Do it. XD Breed until you get a fantastic technicolored rainbow pony!

Oh man, I just bred another foal and ended up with something that resembles a silver black tobiano with a blaze? I dunno. So far this is super fun. The only thing I need to figure out is how to breed two horses that I own together. Hmmmmm....
