Reverse belly spots?

:rofl Funny title I know... but...??? These spots are on a palomino filly. She has very little white and they can't find any white on her belly, just these odd dark spots. She has not shed out anywhere yet. Is this the "calico" thing Sponenberg's been going on about? Palaminos seem to have a few strange things going on like the frequent bendor spots you see on some and then they disappear - strange !

My Pally gets odd dark spots like that (and odd light spots for that matter but she's a sabino too). I think it's just something that happens with them. One year she even had a pretty distinct dorsal.

I don't think I ever examined my palominos quite that closely!

I believe "calico" is associated with tobiano + cream. A year or two ago, Arock posted photos of her calico babies. Very interesting and pretty!
