My Pally gets odd dark spots like that (and odd light spots for that matter but she's a sabino too). I think it's just something that happens with them. One year she even had a pretty distinct dorsal.

I don't think I ever examined my palominos quite that closely!
I believe "calico" is associated with tobiano + cream. A year or two ago, Arock posted photos of her calico babies. Very interesting and pretty!

Palaminos seem to have a few strange things going on like the frequent bendor spots you see on some and then they disappear - strange !
