Double Dilute Hollywood White colt - UC Davis reults

I need some interpretation on the results of the UC Davis test results - "Coat Color results for 09F LITE THAT SPARKLE(DT21498): Red-Factor Result: e/e - Only the red factor detected. Basic color is sorrel or chestnut in the absence of other modifying genes. Agouti Result: a/a - Only recessive allele detected. Black pigment distributed uniformly. Basic color is black in the absence of other modifying genes." On the Red-Factor Results - I understand that he is a cremello based on the fact that they only detected the red factor. On the Agouti Results - It says only the recessive allele detected - so does what does that mean? Please interpret. Thanks - Carolyn
Bred to a chestnut he will have only palomino, bred to black will be only smokey black, bred to a bay can give pali, buckskin or smokey black depending on mares genotype.
Bred to a black might also get you a palomino.

I want a nice cutting/reining bred black :) how cool to get an aa cremello, did he get the dun gene from daddy??? There are not a whole lot of aa AQHA horses, my adults all have at least one A and my bay silver QH is AA I havent tested her champagne silver daughter but I know she has one A, dont know if Cougar gave her an A also :-)

Thanks everyone - I knew it meant that he was cremello but I wasn't sure what the a/a meant. I was hoping that he would be this color - it's alot more predictable than his sire.

I did also get the dun zygosity test - just don't have the results yet - hopefully by Monday.

Anyone that would like to visit - please do - love to talk horses.

Well, his baby photo has been used to show what Lp likes to do with black... LOL Since we've had over 50 mls of rain in the past 48 hours, and it's still raining, I ain't gonna be getting any new photos in the near future...but on the plus side, we have had a chat with Steve about the idea of teaching him to collect and freezing his giggle juice for export /hint-hint/

I don't even go that often but I just need to have that option, you know? I need to know I can get in my car and a little over an hour later have my toes in the frigid Pacific.

Some kids on my floor tried to take me to a great lake to console me and I nearly burst into tears when I saw it. The "waves" were gently lapping onto the shore, it smelled like fish, and just eew and yuck. The real beach must have crashing waves, it must be frightening and awesome, the wind must sting your face and everything must smell of salt.
If I actually wanted people to move here I would tell you about the great skiing but I don't so... :P
HAH! Skiing here is like skiing in the Alps...in fact, a lot of the Olympian snow-based athletes from Europe and US head this way when the northern hemisphere is in summer. Ski in the AM, surf in the PM :laugh1
