Diesel

My best friend's mom's horse, Diesel. He's been changing colors more drastically now (he is now 3 1/4 years old) and Crystal is getting suspicious about his color. His sire (no photo or papers in front of me. Just had knee surgery last night so I'm not up and about looking for that stuff) is palomino (a very light one, not confused with chestnut and flaxen). Dam is Cybil (photos taken night before put to sleep. RIP :sad ): [img]http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn81/bestfriendrob_4/DSC_0005-5.jpg[…] [img]http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn81/bestfriendrob_4/DSC_0038-2.jpg[…] [img]http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn81/bestfriendrob_4/DSC_0039-2.jpg[…] And here is Diesel as a 2 year old. He has had a fly sheet on ALL summer (fly allergies bad) as well. What all do you think I should include aside from extention and agouti and cream? Will add more info as available. Thanks ladies!

Annnyone else?

Will have stud's papers and possibly foal pictures of Diesel this afternoon.

lipigirl Fri, 09/04/2009 - 12:05

His poor Mummy - so sad :sad

I agree seal bay.

TheSwingHorse Fri, 09/04/2009 - 16:19
Sooty Buckskin.
That was my other suspicion aside from seal. What's your reasoning behind it?

critterkeeper Fri, 09/04/2009 - 17:13

I agree, smokey seal (or brown if you prefer to call it that). I think he is too dark for a sooty buckskin, but then stranger things have happened. :bounce

rabbitsfizz Sat, 09/05/2009 - 11:45

The second smoky seal looks sooty buckskin too.
So, when did they publish the test for seal??

accphotography Sat, 09/05/2009 - 12:37

I still think she may be a smokey seal too Swinghorse. Michal never tested her did he?

TheSwingHorse Sat, 09/05/2009 - 13:10

Her owners didn't want to pay for a test that wasn't for sure. If he offered to test her, he said it would be different. =\ But he never got back to our email.

accphotography Sat, 09/05/2009 - 13:45

I wish... He never responded to my email. Duncentralstation here seems to have the best ability to get in touch with him.

accphotography Sat, 09/05/2009 - 16:05

But one is mealy and one is not. She has that white looking muzzle as opposed to the tan of cream.

TheSwingHorse Sun, 09/06/2009 - 12:49

Ok, got a pedigree for you guys. Diesel isn't registered yet but here is his parentage.

Sire: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/silver+…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Dam: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/impress…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Have foal pics that I can scan in later when I get to the other computer. Wish I could find photos of the sire but there doesn't seem to be any readily available.

accphotography Sun, 09/06/2009 - 13:39

WOW there's alot of red in that pedigree.

TheSwingHorse Mon, 09/07/2009 - 16:57

Ok, the test is ordered and paid for through UC Davis. We are just going to test for extension, agouti and cream. The test will go out in the mail tomorrow. We'll see what comes back and we may at some point test for "seal" with him. We'll see. :)

accphotography Mon, 09/07/2009 - 19:12

:bounce I'm going to say 'Ee Aa crcr'.

Fledgesflight Tue, 09/08/2009 - 01:47

^ That's what I reckon he'll test as too.

TheSwingHorse Tue, 09/08/2009 - 01:49

That is what I'm guessing as well... but I just gotta know for sure. xD

mimimorgan Fri, 09/11/2009 - 12:08

Hi everyone,

I have commented on this board before about photos being taken from my website as well as the 2 color sites I have developed, the Silver Dapple Morgans Project and the Morgan Colors site. People- please don't do this. Provide a direct link to the picture if you want to use it as an example. These photos are copyrighted and using them without the photographer's permission is a violation of copyright law. In another thread on silver there were more photos of my own silvers as well as others from the SDMP. Soon enough the pictures are showing up somewhere they are really not supposed to be. I've had my pictures show up on ebay on notecards for sale, on other websites (one a newspaper who should KNOW BETTER about copyright laws!) and on Yahoo groups where the person posting the picture had no rights to its use. Please be considerate of others- using pictures without the photographer's permission is theft.

I am sorry Mimi if one of our members has done that without asking that is not good and is not how we encourage our members to behave, apologies. I do not currently know which pictures you are talking about but will look into it and will ask all our members to remember that links are fine but they should NOT be posting photographs to this site without the owners permission.
