Re: Need help watching Ditto
LOL. She's still running! I'm still recovering from the show Sunday. I'm hoping this weekend I can sleep in and take lots of drugs. Then I'll be boring you all with pictures again!
I was sitting in my chair watching her run today. She ran up to me for scratches and had a huge gob of green snot coming out of one nostril. I'm really going to be watching her closely. The vet gave her a clean bill of health so I'm just watching...
Re: Need help watching Ditto
oh man, the snots went through my barn last summer. Texas brought it from his old barn and Jasi got it when she was pregnant and the foals got it too. It was just some sort of cold and only Jasi seemed at all bothered by it. It's yucky though! I hope Ditto's okay!
Re: Need help watching Ditto
No one had any other symptoms except for Jasi who was heavily pregnant and she ran a moderate fever. The vet put her on antibiotics (I can't remember what kind now but I still have them down in the barn so I could check) and told me she would probably foal pronto, which she did. She said sick pregnant mares (at or near term) will usually just go ahead and foal and then work on getting better.
Re: Need help watching Ditto
Went to check on Ditto at lunch as she was looking uncomfortable again. She's got diarrhea. ew. But still spunky and running and eating. I took some quicky shots with my phone and put them in the Ditto thread. She's just cute. Plain and simple! I'll have to go out tonight and wash her butt. I am getting irriated with Silo. That's her job! :booty

Erm...........have NEVER seen a horse wash it's foal butt except when they are first born to clean off all the gooo !!!! So, you could be waiting a long time to get Silo to do it !!! :laugh1
Re: Need help watching Ditto
Do foals get diaper rash? Just wondering how clean I need to keep her little bum. With all the tail wagging she does, she's just about covered her butt, hips and hocks. Ewwww.
She's actually pretty easy to hold onto. She'll initially rear, but then calms down with pets. You guys can watch the show around 6:30 :booty
Re: Need help watching Ditto
I agree, next to her mom's coat, Ditto definitely has the red hue of a bay.
