Re: Imp Video
Very nice! I wonder how much video they had to shoot to get all that gorgeous trotting. My babies tend to stand still, explode, and stand still again and I only ever see a few trot strides at a time. In fact, I don't think I ever saw Inigo trot until he was almost three years old.
Re: Imp Video
This was the one you liked the dam of so much, do you remember? Bay Trak mare..

Filly as a 2 year old..
Re: Imp Video
Alas, even if you were - the mare has already been sold. I would have to ask, but I know the price could not have been terribly high. I believe she was sold primarily as a riding horse.
I'll tell you a story, they had an offer from Ecaho's owner to breed his first half-arab foal, and this mare was the choice for it. They seriously considered investing the effort, but the timing just wasn't right, and it never happened. I *think* - don't quote me on it - but I think they got her through Mae's Way Farm, who owns Schoenfeld E.
Re: Imp Video
There is a nationals qualified proviously for sport horse 3/4 arab mare I have been considering. She's older (13), huge bone, giant feet....perhaps better topline/coupling, but hard to tell because this mare is in show condition. Not as pretty or striking, but.... still giant and elegant.
Re: Imp Video
I thought it was odd when the question was there one minute and gone the next. But never mind, I didn't think it was inappropriate. I'm sorry you missed out on her. This photo was sent by the new owner when the mare got to her..
Re: Imp Video
:D But she'd have to come live with me and that's a long, stressful trip! I need to get in Cyn training first anyway and that is part of why I'm holding back a little on the big 3/4 mare. I....think he will be a good horse (Cyn), but he and I are like oil and water. We do not mesh. My husband is thinking that he might like him, so he is working on getting trained for it on Jorge. He has never done any showing, but would that be COOL if he got the bug too? He used to ride Paso's but not in competition, just in the breaking stage for his aunt, so....I have my fingers crossed.
The vet said Lacy was about to start loosing her teeth. I'm freaking out a little. I mistakenly thought that I'd like her offspring as much as I do her. It is just not the case. Maybe once he's got some work to do he won't be such a....? whatever it is that makes me not want him. His character is just lacking or something. No one can quite understand why I am not into him.
She's 25. Do I wait for her to start losing weight to start her on senior? Or start now?
If she is staying fit and healthy on the feed that she is on now, then don't change it. Senior feed is meant to be fed as a sole source or nearly sole source of nutrition (ie- eating minimal hay) so is actually lower in calories/vits/mins/etc because it is high in fiber to make up for lack of forage intake. You will end up having to feed more concentrate then you are now.
Re: Imp Video
Imp's breeder got an update on Imari's progress, and I just had to post them, because the mare looks incredible. This is her after being a broodmare for years. I'm not sure I'll leave them up forever, as I am a third party in this, but since this is a not totally public forum...Photos copyright to Nancy McCurdy.
