Blue eyes on a Palomino foal?

Chestnut Sabino dam (brown eyes) & Cremello sire... Pali foal whom is 8 days & with blue eyes. I know they change to brown but at what age/day etc? Never bred a Pali before so i'm learning. :-t Thanks. :toast

I see blue eyes. But they're baby cream blues. They'll change by 3 or 4 months at the latest I suspect.

I also died of cuteness overload. You've got some painting worthy photos there. I love both mare and foal.

Thankyou everyone.
We love him - in fact i love him sooo much i'd love to keep him LOL.
But we are going to sell him (as a gelding, unless an exceptional show/stud home comes along then we'd sell as a colt...).
I keep telling myself "you can't keep them all" LOL.

Thankyou re the info on the blue eyes - i had no real idea when they change colour.
Regards. :)

IMO, as with so many things dealing with any foal, the rate/age at which the pali's eyes change varies by foal...Goldie's eyes were brown by 6 wks of age, but Delight was 3 months before her's finally lost the blue hue. All pali's I have seen have darkened by the end of foal shed - hope that helps.

Once the newest foal gets here, I'm thinking of doing a change comparison between Maya's foals (Goldie and
"WheneverIdecide2Arrive") and Delight. That way, I will see if the age of change is more of an individual thing or an inherited tendency between full siblings and 1/2 siblings.
