What colour?

Re: What colour?
If click on the pictures it take you to a slightly bigger version, I just used the same picture link she gave me. I could ask for bigger ones though.
So you reckon chestnut greys could just look like that too?
She actually called him a pale buckskin/cremello colour but with red tail/ears. She has no idea on age, just a horse competing at an event she was at.
Re: What colour?
Here's the bottom one, I re-uploaded it
Re: What colour?
Has anyone got example of a grey that's gone completely white on its body, no flea-bits or dapples, with the mane and tail (and ears  ) still mostly the base colour??
I don't think it's just red dirt stain  although I have certainly seen some 'white' ponies here that do a good red tail impersonation
Re: What colour?
I found it for her... and you can see some redness on his legs too. I bet a little bit younger he would have looked alot like the OP. HIGHLY unusual graying process IMO.

This was actually the photo I was thinking of

Take it back even a few months and I bet his points are more noticeable.

FYI, his tail is now completely grown out and the red has been cut off. She got tired of people telling her to wash his tail lol. No more red for Silver! He's really silver now haha.

Oh yes, I bet the horse I put up is similar colour to this, or was at some stage!!
Re: What colour?
A friend took these pictures to ask me what colour. He's a creamy colour she said with a red tail, forelock and most of his ears too.

The only thing I could think of was a pally or buckskin going grey?? Not sure where the red came from though!
To me this horse doesn't look grey but what we used to call buttermilk buckskin but with red points instead of black, so is it possible that it is buckskin with somthing else like cream or champagne?
Re: What colour?
This is kind of what I was thinking of but these point are not as brown but still lighter, also I found this link to model horses that are replicas of Dale Evens Buttermilk, I actually have one of these and it is a Buttermilk buckskin with brown points.

Re: What colour?
Buckskin IS cream so hess definitely not buckskin plus cream. Also with eyes and skin that dark theres no way hes cream+champagne.
Also notice how those photos of the buckskin too posted have DARK points. OP horse has RED points. Very large difference IMO
Yes I realize the photos that I found the points are not as red, but they are still pale not dark black, and I didn't know that bucksin was already cream, Im still learning but IMO this horse looks so much like a Buttermilk buckskin to me, just with red points.
Re: What colour?
But those points are the reason many of us are fairly certain hes NOT buckskin. Many houses of many varying colors can have similar body colors but they AREN'T the same. bay and silver bay for example can have almost identical body colors but one its silvery and one is not. Chestnuts can have black mainss and tails but not be bay.
Everything has to fit together. a single part cant be compared and then the rest forgot about.everything is just part of a whole not just a whole by itself.

That is just surreal.
Re: What colour?
Now old? Any younger photos. Gray would make the most sense (on a mere chestnut).
