Pony, what color?

Re: Pony, what color?
Thanks yall for responding.
Could yall explain how your getting the colors your guessing? I am really confused on how yall are seeing gray in this foal. I am also double confused on the palamino one.
I was thinking the gray specks in his hair was the roaning, unless the Dam is not a roan, just going gray. In that case I can see the gray in the foal. The dam was very much bay looking when I got her, except for the roaning. She has continued to get lighter every year, she is 4. So maybe she was just a bay with gray, no roan? And Tigger , the foal, is also just a bay going gray not roan?
I am not 100% positive on the sire, but this is a pic of the silver bay...

Re: Pony, what color?
The sire is definitely a silver brown. The dam DEFINITELY is roan and gray IMO. I think I see a bay/brown base coat, but I'm suspicious of cream as it had to come from somewhere IMO.
The foal is clearly gray IMO, regardless of base color. The tone at birth and the huge color change from birth to present (let alone the goggles in the second pic) definitely point to gray.
The topline and mane scream palomino to me.
Re: Pony, what color?
I thought also that I saw googles around his eyes in that second pic, however it was actually he was shedding and he shed first around his eyes and his nose then down the rest of his body. Not saying he isnt gray as I suspected he may gray all along just because his dam is.
There has been times so far, (he is only 6 months old), that he has seemed to have more gray on his face than others.
His mane still has some foal color left on it from birth, but is very dark at the base, also it does have some gray mixed in.

Re: Pony, what color?
Neither of these two look cream either, but they are.

Re: Pony, what color?
RMT - not they don't but to the trained eye you can see more than just bay going on.
Holly, please put us out of our misery and test the foal for cream. FWIW I also don't think it's a silver brown but a silver bay the sire..not that it's very different and I too have no idea where this cream is coming from either.
Thank you. ;)
Re: Pony, what color?
I have had several palomino babies and a few chestnuts, none of which were similar to this baby. I don't se any cream in this baby.
Respectfully Acc what do you see that I am missing?
I havent seen a silver bay foal but since it seems bays are born with lighter legs which later turn dark I would agree this is a silver bay turning gray.

Ok... but have you seen a palomino going GRAY? ;) :D it makes a huge difference. Palominos going gray are not often born looking palomino.
Re: Pony, what color?
There is no lighter muzzle, that is a normal, Silver Bay muzzle.

This is Carlos, who has a much more prominent nose and is Silver Bay (pinto)
I also see no sign of cream in the foal, I cannot see how you can be so adamant when there really are no signs to indicate what you are suggesting is actually there! ;)
Re: Pony, what color?
Your Carlos looks silver brown as well. :D but I guess we won't know until more people start testing for brown.
There's plenty of signs IMO. I'm adamant because I'm confident. It is very, very clear to me. I never even hesitated for a second. Only one other time have I been so sure about this, and tests proved me correct then.
Re: Pony, what color?
nO, I have not seen a palomino going gray, just a chestnut going gray.
There is much about color I don't know. Years ago when someone explained what to look for to tell the difference between buckskin and dun it became obvious and easy, hence my question; what points do you look at, what clues do you see that make you so confident you see cream?
thank you
Re: Pony, what color?
Here you go.
Palomino going gray side by side with yours

Oh and no, those are not even three weeks old, not months. The ones I just added are first 24 hours.
