Oh, how fascinating... :-bd Do you think it will now be possible for you to tell what color a horse is based solely on hair samples? I can't wait to see other samples...and I was totally surprised to see the white between a cremello and pinto were noticably "different" :bounce :laugh1

Determining color is very difficult with this as it is all about what you actually see. For example, a light reddish bay could be so similar to a rich chestnut that you wouldn't be able to tell.Having said that, as you saw with the cremello (perlino is similar) and white there is a big difference as there is with black. The dilute colors are different but only recognisable as a group rather than their base colors. Dun as you see is very different but again hard to tell the base color.
Remember guys this is not 100% but I am happy to do this for everyone (more the better!) and even better still if there is the DNA test to confirm.

I'm such a slack bugger Thorwood! I did get them and that was around the time life wasn't so good, but now back on track and will do them and Vneerland's dog hairs asap!!
Anyone else who I didn't get back to please give me a slap on the back of the head!! :hammer :oops:
