I am happy with either of these.
His posh name is Shadowplay Mighty Atom, BTW!!
And "Shadowplay Stud UK" would be fine.

It just dawned on me. What IS this??
Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
It was only labelled an Appaloosa mare. I thought it was pretty cool too. You can get them through a bunch of places, just google, and they will come up. These were from openstockphotography.com (contains the Wikimedia Commons images) and there is also freestockphotos.com and you can evn find a list: http://www.ozzu.com/photography-forum/c…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There are LOTS of them.
Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
You can just take them from my Flickr account, I uploaded a bunch I thought might be helpful.

I would say a bay or black varnish roan mare. The white mane could be nothing more than what's going on with Casey's mane going white--Lp causing the black hair to break/shed and get replaced with white hairs. (still waiting for the leopard picture to download before commenting).

Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
That's what I was afraid of. I'm not sure I've found one at all. No fewspots or snowflakes either. I think most of the rest there have been good examples of, except for pearl - literally nothing there.
What about these guys - any hope?
Edited to add - never mind, I just got a good look at this top one and he can't be it

Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
I think both of the second two would qualify even though neither are quite nose to toes.
It never occurred to me, but I have a photo of a true nose to toes leopard. I'd post it, but my website appears to be down (temporarily I hope). I'll post it as soon as it comes back up. I also have blankets and varnish.
Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
Bottom one--near leopard (at least what I and folk I know call a near leopard),
middle mini--could be a leopard...with our leopard mare (what you can see thru' the current mud and winter woollies), from a distance, she looks like she has black "socks", but when you look closely, you can see that the spots have just gotten really close together, and this mini sort of has that same look.
Top one--yep, another 'false' leopard--you can see where the base coat is mostly gone from the neck, but still lingers (but not like in varnish roan), so this is really a blanket with roaning appaloosa.

Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
Thanks for posting those Maigray I never thought about open source photos /smacks self. I did some searching last night and may of them are on wikipedia. I was also reading through the GNU Open source licensing information and if I'm understanding things correctly even thought they are open source you are still supposed to show the licensing information. For the ones on wikipedia that won't be a problem because I can just provide a link back to the wiki page for the photo. I guess if we can't find the source we can always state. "Source not know thought to be open source if you happen to own this photo yada yada..."
Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
I can easily source back to where I found these, and pass the links on to you. If you want to use any, let me know. I can keep uploading ones that might be useful.
Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
Ok I got most of those added and a few more that I thought were interesting. These are the ones I would like to add but need source info.

Re: What we need in photos for the gallery/color pages...
No, I thought the same thing and considered it with this horse, but..same problem, I guess. Phenotypically indistinquishable from each other. You could put up a note about phenotype in the sabino section, in absence of tested SB1 or lines to known SB1 families, and the possibility of splash and/or dominant white to be considered.
In any case, I the green light on a rabicano example! This is Faa Fabadeena, a 2004 black Arabian mare. I'm waiting to hear back from the owner on how she wants to be credited (name, farm, url, etc.)
