It is truly tragic when something like this happens but I have to say that watching the clips on the newscast it looks as if it was an accident waiting to happen......
They are NOT cats, they are TIGERS might be a good place to restart their programme....this is a bit like Michael Aspinalls place, where the keepers were actively encouraged to go in the pens with the Big Cats, and, again, a tiger killed two keepers before the authorities were able to act.
Tigers are apparently particularly unpredictable, almost as bad as Leopards, and it just seems a bit daft to have people in the pens playing with them like that, just for what??
To get the public interested??
Is that worth a man's life??
And I would not personally feel safe walking round that "wildlife park" with just a fence between those animals and me, or those animals and other animals, come to that!!
I have seen a bit of the security measures in wildlife parks over here, I am just down the road from Woburn Abbey, who have one of the oldest in this country (Longleat of course being the oldest!) and they have a Racehorse Stud which I have visited a few times for various reasons.
The place is like Fort Knox and the idea of going into any of the enclosures would have them rolling around with laughter.
They aren't domestic animals!!
Very sad, but saddest of all for this poor man's partner and newborn baby......
