Re: A year for roaning/white spots?
Yea, Sabino is pretty cool. They almost wouldn't let my mom register Jetsy because of that roaned patch on her hip, but besides that is it a very cool interestin color. Amazing how different it can be horse to horse.
Still find it odd that so many would develop things this year.
Frodo started getting white spots like that last year. All over his back. It was really weird. Then I figured out he had a bird's nest in his stall :o :laugh1 :laugh1 :laugh1
When Beamer started snowflaking on us, we first thought she had frightened some plovers in deep grass and they "paid her back", so to speak, as they flew out from under and over her (first snowflakes were white streaks on her head and upper neck). Hubby realised it was appy colour when he went out to wipe off the bird poop, and it wouldn't come off. :laugh1

Only thing that is different that I can think of is the ice storm over the winter. They have the same hay and mineral blocks they always get. Just noticed another gelding in a different field that now has white flecks of hair on his forehead. I guess more of our horses have sabino than we thought.

With that white eye scelera I would def suspect sabino !!! could also be age or scaring causing some of them.
