Twitter anyone?

Re: Twitter anyone?
I'm enjoying twitter a lot more than facebook. In fact, I mostly use tweetdeck, and usually only go to the twitter site to see how many new people are following me and to search out new people to follow. The one thing I'm not going to do is tie my phone into it...I can't begin to imagine what those text charges would be! :o
Sara, what are you on twitter? The only countercanter that came up is in Australia, and I'm pretty sure that's not you! LOL :laugh1

Re: Twitter anyone?
twitter.com is a new deal on the internet. It's not that huge, especially not compared to more humble sites like stumbleupon.com, but it is getting to be a "big deal". A lot of celebs and politicians use it to make them seem like real people, but it's pretty fun so far. It's twitter.com, you make an account and you can update your status whenever you want for everyone to see. You can also follow other people who you like, and watch their status updates. So, if you got on twitter, made an account, and then searched for mikhetosk, you'd find me and know that 5 hours ago I decided that I didn't know how to do my homework, but right now I am very very sleepy and need to go to the gym.
its sillyness, but its fun
Re: Twitter anyone?
I follow a lot of public radio programs, such as World Have Your Say, This American Life, Talk of the Nation, and Science Friday. They tweet both when they're off the air to let you know what the show is going to be about, and while they're on the air to give extra information and post links to things they're talking about.
I also follow Bill Nye (super cool!) and Barack Obama (who actually never, ever tweets).
and then of course there is a little collection of my friends and family and twitter just lets us keep up with what everyone is doing.
Big companies search for their names on Twitter and sometimes if you tweet that you're having a problem with something, they'll contact you. I tweeted that all my animals were shedding and Furminator, Inc started following me! :laugh1
Re: Twitter anyone?
I don't tweeter (yet) but I do know that all our local tv and radio stations are listed as well as a number of politicians and even local visitors associations, museums, theaters, it is getting to be a very big deal here. I haven't joined, but I will look into it - I promise... baa baa :laugh1

Re: Twitter anyone?
My facebook status is usually something either cryptic or ridiculous, unless there's something I really want everyone to know. I don't do the whole "Sara is sitting at the computer, thinking about having dinner or going for a run" thing, even if that's really what I'm doing.
Re: Twitter anyone?
You probably saw me in the list of people Monsterpony follows. ;)
I'll look up Breedofchoice. Do I count if I only have one Appaloosa in my barn? I guess I have more Appaloosas than Quarter Horses though!
Anyone can follow! And yes, having one appaloosa counts.

Re: Twitter anyone?
I dunno, the idea doesn't really apeal to me :| I rarely even use the facebook status thingy. like yeah, what am I doing? same thing I do everyday. :rofl and usually when I'm at the computer the only thing I can think that I'm doing is sitting at the computer!
It's a lot more fun (IMO) than facebook. And I've downloaded tweetdeck, so most of my tweets and replies are from there, rather than from the twitter site. Plus, you can twitter from your cell phone (but I'm not going that route, I think the costs would be horrendous!)

Re: Twitter anyone?
I have a plan that lowers the price of my texts (and calls) the more I use (haven't yet gone over the actual monthly plan price, so it must be working). However, because it would be an international "call", I'd be hit with international rates, and well, sorry, no tweet is worth that! :laugh1

Re: Twitter anyone?
I'm the same as Morgan. I don't think I'm doing anything that interesting to tweeter about
Mind you I could write about the stress and fall out with my inlaws (no more of their negativity phewww)or our oddball Landlord who is giving us a hard time because we won't buy his property and though we pass every inspection (Estate Agents very happy with us) the Landlord is looking for stupid reasons to breach us to have us move out (dog beds in the carport, dry dog food in the dogs's dishes etc)....
Well there you go, my life isn't that boring BUT I'd like to write about some positive things. I'm just waiting for them ...*violin music* ...hehehe
As soon as we buy our own place (hopefully pretty soon) and I can start up my own small business I think I'll consider Tweeter 8-)

You know I have!
