Zenyatta

Horse of the decade... and more. *sigh* What an absolutely incredible animal. It sure has been the year of the filly (it's a good thing after Eight Belles). I wish Rachel would have gone. We'll never know who was better. IMO, Zenyatta. And most of you know how I feel about Rachel. However Rachel looked TIRED after some of her runs with the boys... this girl did this WITH EASE. Welcome to the history books Zenyatta. It's nice to witness.

I was a little worried--she was getting riled up beforehand (although I'm not sure how much of that was her hamming it up versus getting freaked out by the screaming fans), then there were the loading debacles, and then she blew the start. But it didn't matter in the end :D
Oh, and she is huge! This was my first time seeing her in person...

Zenyatta is a 5yr old TB racing mare who easily won the Breeder's Cup Classic racing against "the boys" to win handily yesterday. She also won last year's Breeder's Cup Ladies Classic and her race record is an impressive 14 wins from 14 races. I watched a YouTube of her race and she won it easily; ears up, happy and ready for MORE. What a mare!
She was also being discussed and/or compared with Rachel Alexandra, who won the Preakness Stakes of the Triple Crown series of races in addition to 8 other prestigous wins.

Passing us the first time. Zenyatta was in dead last.

Matt (my hubby) was having a heart attack that she was waiting so late to move. I told him to relax. ;)

Sounds like Sunline's role as Queen Mare of the Race Track has been suitably filled by Zenyatta.
