So Mom just picked up a coming three OTTB in Phoenix. Never started in a race. 16hh chestnut. He has some dark spots that would be Bend Or spots Right? What are the almost roany/lacey looking circles he has? Bird catchers are solid or they can be like this? Ummm.. you've stumped me. Go figure. I have no idea what to call those. For simplicity's sake I'd say "Bend Ors with sabino ticking"... but that doesn't look normal to me at all.

Yeah,I don't know either. His whole butt seemed to be ticked with roan, with the circles.

I'm wondering if they couldn't be rub scars from something. They look almost like the spots horses get on their withers from poor fitting saddles.

Although I can't think of anything that would make those marks in all those places. :lol:

What is his breeding? He could be a minimal rabicano and for whatever reason the ticking is collecting around and emphasizing the bend or spots. Which is so cool. Can we get more pictures?

Mom promosed to get more pics of Zealous tomorrow. I told her to get some of the roan patches both around the bend or spots, and the few without. I told her to look for white under his belly and chin/jaw. I also asked to some better close side shots. I think I can see stripes faintly along his ribs, but he also just could have gotten sweaty on the ride from the track.

Stripes along the ribs?
