What colour is my new baby?

Our last foal for the season was born today And I got a silver filly! woo hoo!! finally after years of geting colts I get my coloured filly! What colour do you think she is? She looks silver brown or silver black with possible roan, she has the roan flanks. Her sire is a brown roan EEAaRr and her dam is EeAaZz. Meet Dream:

OK, look here- you can often tell a Brown horse as opposed to Bay, by it's MUZZLE not it's rear :rofl :rofl
For what it's worth, from what little I can see, I am gong for Brown, but dry pictures of the whole foal would be great!

I think she was trying to show a roany spot in the flanks.

I think brown as well. Not sure about the roan. What I think I'm seeing in the picture is a lighter flank caused by brown. Not all roan babies show roan in the foal coat, but those who do will have white hair in the undercoat. It usually easiest to see if you part the hair.

Lol you guys!! :-)

Her flanks are light but her hip to hock area has all white hairs threw it which Makes me wonder roan, but I'm just over the moon I got a filly and she's silver! My last foal by this sire out of a different made was a brown roan colt and he died at 7 weeks from a snake :-(

IME the roan shows up on the barrel of the body first, not the legs which stay dark anyway- head and legs are unaffected by Roan normally.....

I am so glad you finally got your filly :toast ...that is how I felt about finally getting my colt...hehe It's amazing how opinions can differ on gender choices - but then Thor is the ONLY colt Luna has ever produced in 3 breeding seasons. I agree with the others, we need updated pixs (just for the sheer delight of gazing at this beautiful gal). :love

new pics of Dream at one week old, she still has the white haris through her coat but is now a more choclate colour with a silver sheen, silver flanks and nose.

I have sent away tests for roan, red/agouti and silver ;-)
