I'd say black.

I'm going to go with black also. Loads of black foals are born with countershading mimicking a dorsal.

Just a maximal expression of white, the tail is cute but i too think it's counter shading and black based.

I'd like to see better pixs of the body - one that clearly delineates the body color against the white, not just tail,rump and mane with the black. Also, what color are the eyes?

I personally suspect that this is actually a buckskin foal (daddy could easily hide cream)...I base that on the ears and the creamy look to the body of the foal that isn't "white".

Not convinced countershading goes down into the tail that definitely.
How well versed in the different Dun colours is your friend?
Base is Black, foal is white, just dirty! (As babies always are!!)

It's really confusing to me because the ears look more reddish/brown than dark and the tail area looks bay to me, but really really hard to see for me. I see some black in the legs, as well as reds....so. I'd guess bay, but still really iffy with the odd ear color - unless it's just my screen....???

Hi all, this is my filly. Her sire is black every gen. on his papers. Dam is reg. as a red roan overo but looks like a flax mane sorrel or sabino to me. I've been breeding horses for 35 years...this one is hard to tell because she is totally white exept the ears (forlock) and the little bum and tail bit. Her 2009 FULL sister is jet black with 4 socks, belly spot and blaze...???

I see black overo (probably all three versions).

I agree with Acc, Black splash/sabino/frame, she is cute, love the black ears.
