What to call the rabbit section

I'm actually thinking about just rabbit. Rabbits are in the family Leporidae which with I doubt many people are familiar. Any other ideas before I start setting things up?

Leporine!

Otherwise.... bunny is an adjective for rabbit I guess. :) Not very Scientific, though. Could you put "Leporine (Rabbit)"?

Actually, having just Leporine would encourage people to click on it out of curiosity.

LOL, that maybe true. However, links (and urls) are both used in search engines and I don't think Leporine is something that is commonly searched.

Classifying as Leporine(Rabbit) might be the way to go...

Partially off topic and completely random, but all I can think of from this thread is a quote from a game called Sam and Max where a cartoon dog and rabbit act as freelance police to a crime filled city. "Sam, I'm not a misanthrope I'm a lagomorph!"

Bunnies Galore.
OK, so the new pain meds are giving an already strange sense of humour a new edge, but it just appealed to me......... ymwhisle
Bunny Colours (colors)
And one that probably only Londoners will get "Rabbitrabbitrabbit....." ( Rabbit being a cockney word for talking too much, normally applied to females as in "For god's sake stop rabbiting on about it..")

:-? RF, that is so funny as that is the phrase I use to bring on rain during a drought ymwhisle ...this may explain why the UK is so wet... :rofl

Daylene, my vote would be for Rabbits & Hares

Maigray Tue, 02/14/2012 - 17:48

I think Critter might have it...I'm more familiar with "Lagomorphs" as well, but somehow I think "Rabbits and Hares" might be better. Of course, Rabbit's suggestion is the best - seriously, Bunny Colors....It's the best! Hilarious!

Hmmm, lagamorphs doesn't mean just rabbits though, otherwise I'd agree. Bunny is my favorite, but it doesn't fit in the canine/feline/equine naming scheme. I guess everything else could get changed to dog/cat/horse?

What will we call the mouse/rat, chicken, cow and ??? sections?

Ya'll are to funny...

I could change the menu items to display horse, cat, dog etc. I could leave all the url's the same and we could go from there. That shouldn't affect the site rankings in google search. Might actually help a bit although I can't say for sure. The problem with this is that then mules (if I ever write a page on mules) and donkies as well as wild felines and canines have no place to go :-?
What will we call the mouse/rat, chicken, cow and ??? sections?
Well, the cows are easy they are "bovine". Sheep are "ovine" and pigs are "porcine". I had considered "Avian" for the chicken section and that could include parrots and such... but that is much broader than say feline. I haven't the faintest idea how to do rats and mice...except maybe "Rodent".

I decided to go with Leporine(Rabbit) for the urls and Leporine on the menu items. Thanks so much for the suggestions and humor. :love
