Tobiano Only?

Found some pics I took several years ago of a mini and a mini/shetland at the place I used to keep my horses at. Are they tobiano only? or Tobi + something else? And if Tobi + something else...what on their patterning makes you want to think that? the Shetland/Mini (sire was a mini, dam was a mini/shetland cross). She was going grey. and a baby pic of her--fresh from the mare(no comments about mare please. We purchased her as a 14 year old that might be bred....she was severely emaciated and in May still had full winter coat on. We figured she was wormy. She popped a foal out and when the vet came out he aged the mare as to being in her mid to late 30s! She looked super good after a few more months of feed and care and lived for several more years): [img]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y285/stauffie/Confo/41046624EXpKXZ_ph…] and...Grullo mini I'm sure I have more pics of him somewhere if you want another angle or something.

I agree with splash to as the leg white it so high...but then there are no blue eyes - glad you gave that mare a loving home towards the end. ;)

it's so weird seeing splash without a big splashy blaze, lol. but that was my first thought too

so splash on both? or just the grullo boy? or the grey filly?

neither of them had a fleck of white hair on their faces/lips/chins/etc(other than the grey as she started turning grey of course..lol)

I'm not great with this so very well may be corrected ;)

But for the filly, I think splash since the chest is so one sided.

And for the other guy, I also think splash because of teh white back half (er, more than half) of him.

Looking forward to seeing more educated responses ;)

Splash on both, + Tobi.
I would think the mare was Pinto under the Grey??
You get no criticisms from me for a 30+ mare having a healthy foal, only praise!!

I had posted her elsewhere before without her backstory and got a lot of flak until I was able to log back on and explain why she was in poor condition and that we had only had her a few weeks.

While nursing and after weaning...this is what we got her to look like...when her filly was just a few weeks old, the vet also pulled about half of her molars because they were rotting.
[img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/…]
when we first got her...after shedding her out, we could see all of her ribs...that hair made for a great optical illusion she wasn't as bad as she really was

[img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/…]
A few months later...3 or 4 months I'd say...while nursing that filly.

and then after weaning a year or two later
[img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/…]

no pinto or white markings at all on her...we'd bathe her and only see dark skin, no pink skin. The mini stallion that was out running with her was a black pinto, pretty much marked like the filly

Definitely splash, tobi just won the face. On the first, splash took half the chest shield. On the second, splash took the flank.

You did a BRILLIANT job with that mare, well done you.
So the pattern came form the sire?
Has the foal greyed out??

I last seen a picture of the grey pinto filly a year or so ago...almost nearly white, but you could faintly see her spots still.
