So what do we all think!!!

I have seen this pony in the flesh. His sire is pally gone grey & dam is chestnut ??? heavily ticked sabino ???? roan. This pony is very heavily ticked all over, though it is hard to see in the photo. His mane & tail are almost pure white, just a hint of that sooty, silvery shade in the mane. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs570.ash2/149244_143311089…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

my vote's for tostado palomino--we had one like her, everyone thought she was flaxen chestnut, until she dropped a pali foal for us.

Palomino Sabino.
Actually I don't care what colour he is, I am emigrating to Oz and getting back into show ponies!!!
Honestly, I do wish I were in a position to import, what/who is the pinto in the background???

I'll go for flaxen chestnut, no grey, on this one. I have to agree with Rabbit, I've never seen such beautiful show ponies as the in the links you post from Oz, not even in the UK.

Does he have Twyford Grenadier in his pedigree?
I ask as this horse was a classic dark chestnut but had a gold overlay and an almost white mane and tail.
He was also very very beautiful.
And HORRID, truly evil!! :-t

Yes, the pony is chestnut, no roan & no grey.
The ticking does not alter his shade at all though.

He is welsh B, but I doubt that he has Grenadier anywhere in there.

Found a foal photo of him where he does look chestnut.

Yes, no cream.

Not sure about the need to retest???? Flaxen chestnut is not uncommonly mistaken for pally.
Here is another pic of mum Weston Park Candice, top left of the page.
Her white ticking makes her look very pale, if she had the flaxen mane & tail, she would look similar to him.

In the flesh, I have to say, his body shade looked much more reddish than gold, but his mane & tail gave the appearance of pally.
I can see why they tested him.

I wouldn't think retest would be needed, I mean I can see why they did the test, but I've definitely seen flaxen chestnuts that shade too
