Roan Test

I thought I would take the chance and test my gold cream colt (along with his dam) for roan and he tested to have one copy of the roan gene, it sure is nice to be able to put Is roan and not "could be roan" on his sales adds. Im not in any rush to sell this one, I would like to see how he matures, he is such a nice put together boy [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/peruvianpasogal/ldshed195.jpg[/i…]

Okay, now I have a question about the test for roan. Does it test for: A) classic roan, B) sabino roan, C) rabicano roan, or D) all of the above?

Ooooh, he's cute.

I'm a "head" person. He has a REALLY pretty head. Pretty like my girl! Love him!

I was thinking about getting Luna tested for a few things (seeing as nothing shows on him but cream - :laugh1 )

Were you able to get Luna's papers finally? Maybe by his pedigree we could make some guesses.

No, never got his papers - his original owner/breeder skipped town to avoid prosecution for abuse/neglect...it figures. Oh well, I plan on changing him out next year anyway for one that is registered (can't have him breeding his own offspring now can we - :laugh1 ). Which reminds me - Goldie is getting some white areas along her back and rump (her mane is going snow white and her tail is starting to turn too). When Hubby gets back in (or Matt stops by) I will get closeup shots of it to show you...I don't know what to think (but then it could just be foal shed coming on).

I was able to snap one today, but hubby came home (3 days early this week) so hopefully tomorrow we can get some descent ones (if it doesn't start raining again.). :laugh1
