rabicano and sabino roaning

It occurred to me that I have only seen rabicano and sabino roaning on chestnuts. I am wondering if that is accurate or do they show up on bays as well? (assuming whatever shows up on chestnut can/will show up on any chestnut based horse) It also seems that they usually show up together, are they from the same gene or loci? what is the correct terminology please?

Oh no. I've seen BOTH on pretty much EVERY color. As for them showing up together... are you sure? It's perfectly possible you're only seeing one and it just happens to mimic both.

Oh yeah, I mean rabicano and sabino seem to show up together, but now thinking about it I have seen them separately.

acc are you saying that sabino can look like rabicano? so that would mean they are actually two different (whats the word I want)?
not just words used to identify where the white is. white on the tail head is called rabicano, white on the face is a blaze or star or w.h.y.
