Pally Halter Mare

So, what patterns would you guys say she has? This is my good friend's Paint halter mare by Titanic Uno. I don't know her reg name or her mothers to look her up though. [img]http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u146/Jordie0587/Idgie5-15-09089.jpg[…] [img]http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u146/Jordie0587/Idgie5-15-09143.jpg[…] Hmm shoulda cropped my fat butt out lol. She has a white spot on her left front knee too. What would cause that?

Sabino or splash but that looks more sabino to me, the lack of front leg white makes me think frame
The spot on her knee is usually from patterns fighting for leg white or no leg white, so they end up with something in the middle.

Sabino for sure, and the bottom heavy blaze makes me think splash.

There are people here who would be able to look at the bloodlines to know whether frame is a possibility. Is there any way to get the dam's name?

She SCREAMS splash. Sabino is probably also there. I wouldn't rule out frame (in fact with those fronts, it's probably there).

I guessed splash too. Just because of the blaze and back legs but I wasn't sure.

Sorry, I can't get ahold of her to ask! Grrr

She won her first class this weekend (2nd show ever) and got second in the other class she was in yesterday. So she's off to a good start! Which to me is exciting because she's actually CORRECT. She's not an icky halter horse at all. If only she had a more refined head...

Actually she screams Sabino to me.
No blue eyes!!!
As Sabino often comes hand in hand with Splash that is probably in there and also of course since you do not know, test for Frame.
A lot of my Welsh had what I can only describe, for want of better terminology, as "restricted rather than minimal" markings...ie as maximum as the registration limits of the time would allow, and she is Red base, which we know encourages expression, so I would put her in that bracket.....too loud for "normal white markings" but not loud enough for Pinto.
I had an Arab X Welsh mare, Red base, who would have qualified as a Pinto and an Appy!!!(visually, obviously)

Well it's the bottom heavy face white that looks splash, and the movement of the white on the back legs that SCREAMS splash for me.

I see sabino and probably splash. same as I have seen in her sire (he's LWO neg.), his marking are too clean and boxy imo for sabino alone and the way the stockings come up the hind gaskings, and on her the shape of the nose marking.

accphotography Mon, 05/18/2009 - 15:15

I hadn't looked at him until just now Morgan, but I agree. Now after having seen him (and that he's LWO neg.) I'd love to know who the mare is and if she is LWO. Comparing stallion to foal, it seems frame is likely there to me.

That filly is alot nicer than the stallion IMO.

Cool that's what I thought too.

Her reg name is Eyes a Titanic. Titanic Uno x Eyes A Pretty Solis(QH).

She's double registered

So far no plans to breed her at all. We think she's HYPP NH, but were told by AQHA that she's NN so my friend sent in a test not too long ago when we noticed her having CLASSIC HYPP attacks. Which of course is irritating as hell. They told her repeatedly that she had been tested negative but that's gotta be BS.

accphotography Mon, 05/18/2009 - 21:46

Maybe they sent in another horses results instead? :?

Ok her dam does trace to frame so definitely worth testing if she's ever bred.

However if she is having attacks, she's probably positive, and thus they wouldn't breed her? Maybe?

Jordie0587 Mon, 05/18/2009 - 22:15

If the test comes back positive (and it's not some other freaky phenomenon) then no, as long as she's with them she will not be bred. Which is a shame because she has such wonderful conformation... blah

Wouldn't it suck if that test were mixed up? We were talking about that the other day that somebody could have a horse tagged as NH that isn't!

accphotography Mon, 05/18/2009 - 22:45

Does your friend know the breeder? I'm not saying that's what happened in this case, but it's not unheard of for people to intentionally submit the wrong horse for testing.

Jordie0587 Tue, 05/19/2009 - 01:46

No I don't think so, they bought her from another woman who's had her for a while. Might be a possibility though!

MissRascal Mon, 05/25/2009 - 01:58

I say Sabino for the OT mare, likely with frame.
For a Hypp N/N horse the stallion has an awful lot of muscles, I don't like him exept for his markings.
