Well I feel completely stupid for having to ask this again, but is Coco just a really faded black? Is there no possibility of Creme in there? That's the only thing I could think of that might make something other than a fading black....

She looks black to me, but then as Jenks said cream could be causing the faded look as well

Well I don't have her mothers papers with me right now (to check parents) but it was suspected by ACC I believe that Magic is a smokey black because of how light her flanks get and how brown she gets in the summer.
And yes, that is my little donkey, Ellie.

Hm, maybe if I ever find the money I will test Coco.
And yea it figures, between tobiano, sabino and Lp, she got nothing- at least nothing that shows up! I still wonder about the LP since her father did not even get mottling or varnishing until about 5 years old, but I highly doubt she got it since she has no characteristics.

reminds me of the fading my SSH pony gets...in the flank and on the butt under her tail. Gets super light/golden looking.

uhmmmm, black based...so don't discount it yet. Pearl is in her late teens and only just starting to develop the visible appy striped hoof.
