Forums

We have a beauitful colt that was born on St. Patties day. He is out of the mare Miss Biggie and sired by Arctic Cielo, but I need your help to give him on heck of a great name, it can have something to do with the holiday, but really "Patty..." LOL

I am no good at picking names the jockey club would like, How many but here goes...how about:

Cielos Bold Highland (he does have Bold Ruler on both sides, got a soft spot for him, :love - and Bold Irish is taken - also in his pedigree) and his blaze reminds me of a profile of Mel Gibson in "The Highlander"

Or Cielos Native Highland - got a soft spot for Native Dancer too ymwhisle ...

Or Cielos Wild Irishman

Cielos Wild Native

Cielos Arctic Native

Celtic Arctic Native

For a barn name there's always things more manly than Patty... like Lucky or Seamus or heck, even Irish!
...or there's how I was this St. Patrick's day... Tipsy!! :toast :rofl

At any rate, he's SUPER adorable!!!

Thanks ladies! He really is a great way to start off our 2011 foaling season. We have three more mares due any time - one is over due and is driving us all batty with the waiting ~x( But she will pop when she is ready and not a day before.

As a stable name you could call him Pádraig.

Pronounced - Paw - Dreg.

Padraig is the Irish for Patrick or you could shorten it to Paudie - Paw dee.

Shamrock translates to seamróg - Sham rogue

Maith an Fearr is Irish for Good Man so Cielos Maith on Fearr

Can I just say that he should maybe move to Ireland :love

Gosh he's lovely!

Danny Boy as a paddock name?

Registered name suggestions -

Irish Ballad
Irish Song (a catchy irish song, you can hear on youtube)
Irish Pride
South Wind (a gentle Irish Tune/Melody, you can hear on youtube)

Seamus and Padraig are my absolute favorite Irish male names. I met several Padraig in Ireland that went by Podge as a nickname.

All great names, now I just have to break the habit everyone has in calling him Patty :BH lol I am a believer in the name makes the horse, so I am calling him Saint in hopes that he is.
