And splash. That movement of white from the back legs up the stifle is typical splash.

If I'm not mistaken this lovely passed away some time ago. He has a beautiful sister though that I think is marked either identically or a bit louder and if I remember right also grulla. I also think they are both the results of a frame to frame mating, but that's neither here nor there.

wow! what a lovley colour combo! he reminds me of this little colt (bay + ??)
Don't care for the filly at all, but the colt is rather nice...
I wish we could cut the colts front end off its backend and put it on a nicer one

Please don't critique a horses faults unless specifically asked by the owners. Doing anything else especially when they are members of this forum can only lead to needless hurt feelings.

I personally dont think me or RF critiqued either of those horses.

And even if there WAS a critique I personally feel that if you put your pictures of your horses up on the internet that you should be ready for a critique whether you ask for one or not.

accphotography Wed, 03/25/2009 - 18:23

Some comments are made as merely a matter of personal preference. Halter people wouldn't want a jumper's body and vice versa.

Heather Wed, 03/25/2009 - 18:32

It was a bit harsh and not asked for and if there is a place that is spifically asking for advice on conformation then everyone will feel welcome and not have fear of posting a pic ABOUT COLOR and have the risk of being told their animal is ugly..it was tactless frankly. I think if as a rule it gets confined to a certain place it will keep it color oriented in all other places , if needed with a friendly reminder. The goal on a color forum is to discuss color isnt it?

PamelaTX Thu, 03/26/2009 - 01:42

I like em both, just wish the filly had more of the grullo coloring, but thats just a preference.

rabbitsfizz Wed, 04/08/2009 - 11:41

So we are allowed to say that we like something, but not that we don't??
Basically, if it is just colour we are critiquing, then we should not be saying something is nice, either, and I think that would be a shame.
I do not think saying that I (as in me, my opinion) did not care for something was harsh or tactless, sorry.

Sara Wed, 04/08/2009 - 12:35

I don't think it is tactless to say that you don't care for something, but I get in trouble for that too.

Heather Wed, 04/08/2009 - 12:46

Did your mom ever tell you " if you dont have something nice to say dont say anything at all" ? That is the mantra I grew up with :-?? ...

Sara Wed, 04/08/2009 - 13:57

I'm not interested in turning this forum into a sunshine and roses board. We're talking about breeding living, feeling creatures who will live for 25 years or more, not whether or not we like some kid's sweater.

I'm not commenting on the original horse in this thread, by the way. Just stating my view in general.

rabbitsfizz Wed, 04/08/2009 - 14:15

Exactly so, Sara.
Heidi, yes, we have all heard that, and I did not say he had an ugly head, or that she had a big backside...I was more commenting on the difference between full siblings, than anything else.

RiddleMeThis Wed, 04/08/2009 - 15:47

And I was saying I wish he had a different hind end because I do because I would want him for a jumper/event prospect. Not necessarily because I think his hind end is ugly. Someone who wants that horse for what he was bred to do would probably love his hind end.

Heidi, yes, we have all heard that...
Whoa! Hey! Who else is called "Heidi"? :?:
This is my first post in this thread.
I think you meant Heather. ;)

...just having some fun to lighten the mood. It's all good! :rofl Sorry for poking fun at you, RF. It [my response] just struck me as funny. I do hope I didn't offend...
