Walk to cure Diabetes

My friend/roommate, Brooke, is doing this: http://www.walk.jdrf.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's a great cause. I just decided I'd post it here, in case anyone wants to give to help the cause. If you're interested, go to the main page, and type in her name: Brooke Embry (in Louisiana) That will bring you to her page. This is an excerpt from her page:
Hey everyone! As most of your know I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes on May 24, 1999 when i was 12 years old. I cannot believe that I have had it for 10 years now! Although it has made me a stronger person today, it is still a daily struggle to keep everything on track. This year, i have decided to get more and more involved with JDRF since I am getting older. I would greatly appreciate any donations to help find a cure! Thank y'all so much! --Brooke-- Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $105 million. Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people with a large and growing percentage of them children. There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime! Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
