Super Excited!

So, I just got a phone call from my mom! Here's some backstory first: My family is Croatia, my mom was born in Croatia and I was born in Croatia. My great-grandparents own(ed) a house in Bribir, about 2 miles from the Adriatic coast and the property had been co-owned by the three children after they passed away. After my grandfather died my mom took his place (she's an only child) so her name is on the list. Well, my granduncle had been living in the house for awhile and recently died, and now his children want to take the house to sell it. Mind you, Croatia is supposed to get in the EU here shortly and the property value there is supposed to skyrocket, not to mention its very hard to get permits to build NEW buildings, but you can fix old places easily. So, my mom said "Hell no!" because the one daughter tried to trick my poor blind grandmother into signing the property over to them - luckily it's under my mom's name. So my mom calls over there and tells them she needs to property formally split, we're getting the house, and we're all going to visit it this summer to make sure its okay. I'm excited because: A) I LOVE this house. I have fond memories of visiting as a little girl. B) My mom wants to fix the house and use it as a summer house for all of us. :) C) I LOVE the Adriatic This village is about a 2 hours drive from Lipica - the location of the original stud farm for Lipizzan horses. Here's a poor quality picture of me and my brother as little kids at that house:

Brilliant, it's a lovely country.
Hopefully, Croatia can take the place of the UK in the EU- one can only hope!!!

What's the UK's place in the EU? Forgive me for be completely oblivious about all of this. I really do try to keep up with worldly news, but I always get distracted by the science/technology/archaeology headlines.

I am a little excited to get an EU citizenship, I'm not gonna lie.
