Street Legal!

Re: Street Legal!
Cruisers, I suppose. I am not a speed demon at all...speed limit is just fine for me. I am really looking for something that I can drive around town, but still take occasional trips across the state on. The one I am borrowing from my friend gets 70-80 mpg (only $3.50 to fill up!), but tops out at about 50 mph. He is suggesting that I look into something in the 250-750 range, but I want to save up money and buy the gear/helmet first before I get the bike.
Re: Street Legal!
We use to have an 04' fat boy, but sold it befroe we moved here to NC. Hubby is a old dirt bike rider and rode the damn thing like a dirt bike on the property, he was insane. His cycle sticker has to be renewed here in this state and he failed the test LOL!!! :laugh1
Re: Street Legal!
And remember - just as with horse helmets, do NOT buy the cheapest one you can find (nor a used one as you never know if it has been in an accident :hammer ). And make sure it has a proper fit - it can save your life (don't want to flush all that expensive and useful knowledge down the toilet do we?) :flush
Re: Street Legal!
Oh believe me, I will not skimp on the helmet. I am still rather nervous about the fact that I am going 50mph without the safety of a solid steel cage around me. I am going to get riding gear before I get the bike. I want the jacket and pants that come with padding and everything.
Re: Street Legal!
I just passed my motorcycle riding exam this morning! :bounce :bounce There were two other people taking it and the first couldn't handle the course and the second crashed his bike. I showed up on a borrowed 1974 little street bike and managed to pass with only a few small mistakes! Now I need to get a bike and gear and helmet...there is always a drawback.
Hubby says--unless you're planning on bringing a Harley over in your luggage, he doesn't want to know about your m/c license. :booty :laugh1

Re: Street Legal!
Congrats! My husband always says if you want to pass the cycle test to show up on the littlest bike that you can. Smaller bikes can navigate the course better.
Now what type of bike are you looking at? Cruisers or crotch rockets?
