starting an attempt, lol

OK, so for some reason ps is spazzing and won't let me save as a png, but that's what I want this to eventually be. Here's a rough *rough* attempt at....something. I had a better idea at some point, but that went :flush . So I'm starting from scratch, and here's the first draft at one of many to come. So the BG will be transparent, eventually, lol and it'll be smaller, whatever, lol!

critterkeeper Fri, 08/28/2009 - 18:41

It may not count for much - opinion wise - but I like the first one best. But I love the concept, the pix and the layout.

Krickette Fri, 08/28/2009 - 19:29

Thanks!
OH
MY
GOD

You'd think I'd know by now.
I just drew the mane and tail on this horse...It took forever.
And now PS is frozen. Yay. I didn't save, of course. I am just full of win.
I am just going to leave the computer, and hope it magically unfreezes.... :(

Krickette Fri, 08/28/2009 - 19:48

OK, redid again, the tail sucks....but i've drawn it 4 times now, lol, i give up.

again, bg will be transparent

I love the rainbow effect and Text but I think that we need a horse showing lots of colour a pinto if poss is what I am thinking - or a Dun - maybe a Champers - I love the foal it's SO cute but I think we need something a little more unusual - IMHO.

Heidi Sat, 08/29/2009 - 11:21

I really liked the foal, if the tail could be 'fixed'. The markings put on the foal are awesome, all that zebra-lined shading *does* look unusual. I do agree that a pinto, possibly including dun, cream and/or champagne would "represent" very nicely.

CMhorses Sat, 08/29/2009 - 12:09

A little odd or abstract,but what if you had a horse that represented a little bit of everything? Then again that could be too confusing. We have a few interesting pintos,but they are not that interestingly colored.

critterkeeper Sat, 08/29/2009 - 12:58

Well it isn't like you have to limit yourself to ONE foal...find a pinto foal, a dun, and maybe a champaign and just fill in all 4 corners of the banner...it's just a thought - :flower :bounce

accphotography Sat, 08/29/2009 - 14:06

People I'm pretty sure that photo hasn't been touched. :rofl That is the foal's natural coloring and natural tail.

Personally I think it's absolutely fantastic. The foal is an unusual color and it's a fantastic photo. I LOVE the rainbow background. It gives Admin alot of versatility in picking colors for the site and forum too.

One thing I might consider is slightly blurring or smudging the rainbow a little so it's less sharp.

lipigirl Sat, 08/29/2009 - 14:33

I LOVE the foal but I just think something a little more unusual would represent the site better or as previously suggested maybe something else as well possibles from the photo gallery if you can use them are -

http://www.equine-color.info/v/chestnut…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.equine-color.info/v/white/to…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.equine-color.info/v/modifier…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I also agree that the rainbow being washed out a little would look fab !

Krickette Sun, 08/30/2009 - 11:08

I mean there will be no rainbow background. It will be just the horse and the text.

And I was planning on doing some more unusual ones, I just was having trouble finding unusual horses in good enough poses that were available for free use.

Krickette Sun, 08/30/2009 - 11:09

Also the only retouching to the foal was the levels were adjusted to make the image clearer, and I edited out his little willy.

accphotography Sun, 08/30/2009 - 12:59

Aww man. I had a feeling you were going to say that. :sad I think we LIKED the rainbow! :rofl

What about that champagne tobiano that's floating around here somewhere? Or Lipi's friend's classic silver (dun?)?

lipigirl Sun, 08/30/2009 - 13:37

'Liz owns the rights to those cool photos of Ridgehavens Cocoa the Classic Silver Champagne so may be too difficult to do those but I agree I liked the rainbow as afterall isn't it a rainbow of colours we look at all the time ???????????? :D ;) ....you know we are right. :HB

Krickette Sun, 08/30/2009 - 15:24

I can fade the rainbow a bit if you would like, that's not hard at all. I figure I'll make a couple and maybe we can get the option to chose which one we got to use (diff forum themes). Whatever, lol! Anyways, yeah, send some pictures my way and I'll photoshop the heck out of them, starting next week (bout to go to FL tomorrow :bounce )

vneerland Tue, 09/01/2009 - 01:21

I like the first/foal set better, especially the second draft.
I do happen to agree with the statement that the foal is a bit 'bland' in color, so if you can 'genetically redo' it? I think that would be super. I would make it pretty obvious. While dun, flaxen, or silver markings are cool, they are not always spotted at first glance or with a computer that does not display images full 'strength' like mine does (dial up trying to speed up the loading process)
I would also like to put a vote in for a (faded) rainbow. I thought that was brilliant, actually. :oops:

Oh. And Bon Voyage. Enjoy your trip. 8-)

vneerland Wed, 09/02/2009 - 10:46

Sparky, second shot 8-)

In personally think at least (one?) unusual paint, possiby with cream, or dun or champagne or some dillution.
How about Innishfael dragon? :o Isn't that a lovely horse/great (visual) mix of colors?
