Stallion owners...I have a question.

Ok, I know this may differ for the different states, but are there regulations for keeping a stallion?? Like you have a stallion, is there certain fence requirements? If so who do you contact to know this info? Or this only for stallions kept like in the city limits or out in the country as well? Thanks for any help!

All that I can say is that our State is a "Fence in" state. Some others (not sure which? Wyoming?) are "fence out" states. That would mean that a stallion owner in Texas is held to make sure that his stud does not get out. (whatever that takes?) In a fence out state, the mare owner must make sure that nothing can get to their mare. (so the stud owner gets to keep him behind a 4 ft fence in the front yard, if they so please) :laugh1

See thats what I was wondering. Thanks!

A woman (girl) on another board is askin what her rights are because she has a neighbor who's mare "got in" with her stud & wants to know what her rights are & if can get stud fees out of her neighbor for the foal.
She lives in TX.
(this girl is bout ignorant as they come...IMO)

 Quite a horny mare! :laugh1 Is she sure she did not 'get in' by means of an "oops gate"
we are probably talking about a two strand 40 year old barbed wire fence that the neighbors cat pushed over in one section. :(
