Okay, okay...baby pictures

So here is the newest addition to our family...Evan Jerome, born June 15th at 5:19 a.m. His sister took 14 hours and 3+ hours of pushing to arrive, while this little guy practically fell out. I went into labor at 1:50 in the morning with contractions 10 minutes apart, within half an hour they were 7 minutes apart (so I called our babysitter for Keira), she arrived 45 minutes later to contractions 5 minutes apart. I threw my husband in the car, who seemed to think that we had "all kinds of time". Got to the hospital at 3:50, my water broke at 4:47, and he arrived 32 minutes later. I would recommend a super-fast labor except that it meant they did not have enough time to get me an epidural. That was just uncivilized. I was begging for drugs, lots of drugs, the maximum legal limit of drugs...but no dice. By the time he started moving down the pipe, he was just minutes away. He was 9 pounds, 3.6 ounces and 21 inches long. He felt like it, too. So here are some pictures...he's keeping us up late, but sleeps pretty well once he's down, and still naps during the day. It gives me SOME time to work on my dissertation, at least! In our room a few hours after the birth: Did I mention my husband slept for 3 hours afterward? And he didn't even do any of the work! Goodness what a healthy looking baby. LOL did he bake in the oven to long, he already looks a couple months old. Beautiful.

Congratulations to you on your new baby.

Take time and cherish the moments when they depend on you and have the faith that you can fix any problem they have. My "babies" are not 19 and 22 and are at the stage where Daddy doesn't know anything. I'm told that stage will pass. :ympray:

Yes, he knocked his Apgar scores out of the park! My first was so fair-skinned (like me) that they had to take her out in the hallway to see if she was pale because there was something wrong, or if it was just her skin tone. My husband is pretty fair too. This guy...with that dark hair and a positively olive complexion, he was very...robust looking! A friend of mine stopped by to visit, looked at him, and said, "Um...what were you doing? Should I be checking out the milkman?"

LOL Talk about a good example of genes skipping a generation. At least it wasn't jondis (?). My best friend was so surprised when her baby came out with dark hair and this deep tan/yellow skin.

I remember a mentor of mine telling me how fast they grow up when my kids were babies, oh my I didn't believe it, but is like over night isn't it?

Turn round twice and he'll be bringing girls home, (or fighting them off with a stick!).
He really is lovely, though.
You young'uns just have it so easy....epidural....what's that??? :rofl

My son was 9 lb 10 oz and 24 in long LOL , it cured me of ever doing it again! All the cloths we got for him were to small , it was crazy and they seem to pull their head up sooner and look around ect ...

Your story sounds a lot like my birth. I was my mom's second baby and when she got to the hospital, the doctor said she wasn't far enough to go into the birthing room. Well, my mom was and still is a labor and delivery nurse and tried to argue that she was ready. He relented enough to give her a bed in the hallway to wait. Guess who was born in the hallway with no drugs on board for my mom and I was 9lb 8 oz.

Welcome to the 9+lb & no drugs club! He looks soooo healthy! Congrats.
(my hubby fell asleep BEFORE the baby came...woke up for arrival, and slept again after. I don't hold it against him, he was up for a week strait, working during the day and up with me at night for a week of long 10 min apart braxton-hick-hick-hicks, prep-labor I called it, sure felt like real labor to a first timer!)

Congrats, horsegen, he's lovely! I feel for you regarding the episiotomy since the only "drugs" I got for my daughter's birth was a bucket of ice water thrown down there.
