WOW is he ever gorgeous!!! one of my dream colors that's for sure, how tall is he??? Cuz he looks big but that is definitely a compliment if he's small :)

I love the wooly baby pictures on the site and how just clipping them they lose like 2 inches all the way around ahaha

I dont know if hes been tested but he has produced palomino from chestnut mares , and its pretty obvious he carries silver , hes 7yrs old and hes 31.75 ins ,

I don't doubt the cream or the silver. :D I'm just wondering why his skin is so pinkish and his eyes are so light. I would have said he was classic cream silver (though he'd be very dark).

Oh my word yes he does look like classic , as its so unusual it hadnt even crossed my mind ! it also says about champagne -" They often appear identical to palominos, and care must be taken not to confuse the two genotypes"
but unless his sire is wrongly registered I doubt its possible , this is his sire-

, he has alot of palomino and cremello especially on his dams side - pedigree for sire -

lots of gold melody (at least three crosses) are there any know champagne lines in minis?

accphotography Thu, 11/18/2010 - 14:24

There's a fair bit of champagne in minis. It could be anywhere due to the poor registration. I don't see it on the sire... what color is the dam? The "palomino" foals could have actually been gold champagne and he might not have cream at all (which would explain why he's so dark for a classic cream silver).

accphotography Thu, 11/18/2010 - 18:23

Well huh. I don't see it on either. *sigh* If it were me I'd test out of curiosity.

The earliest champagne recorded in minis was Hidden Meadows Grulla a 1974 mare. It's more than likely in other lines considering how eclectic mini pedigrees are.

well I found out he has been colour tested for cream and silver , but Ive found him on websites where they have described him as palomino so I did some googling and found some pics where he looks a completely different colour , like this page for instance (2n horse down)

He is way too dark to have cream silver and champagne.

accphotography Sat, 11/20/2010 - 23:26

Actually she said he wasn't tested, only assumed due to palomino (or thought to be) foals.
