Need a pic for a portrait.

I have some space at an exhibition soon and want to promote my horse portraits, unfortunately all my best work is with the people who commissioned them! Does anyone have a nice head shot of a horse/pony I could use? None of my own photos are quite 'special' enough and I want to do something new not a repeat anyway. I can't pay and there is a chance it might sell. I want a pic that has a bit of life maybe, mane or expression. If it doesn't sell (it is unlikely to, I really just need it for advertising but can't guarantee) I can take it back out of the frame and post it to whoever owns the pic. Cheers!

You're welcome to use this pic, if it doesn't have too much shadow for you and you think it's suitable?
I took this pic myself so no issues allowing you to copy it.

Feel free to use any from my photobucket:

Guest Password: "hoodsey1"

There is a ton of andalusian and friesian shots in there.

I have a few you are welcome to. In fact any of mine that you happen upon you are welcome to, provided it wasn't taken by someone else (those have someone's signature on them, so thats pretty obvious)
there are a few really good ones here:

Frodo is awesome! But people in the UK don't seem to like blue eyes on the whole (I'm an exception, I love them!) so I better choose a horse with dark eyes. Still whittling down, I'm at about 20 now LOL.

I have a picture of Splash that I looooove but I think it might be *too* up close. Oh well, gonna post anyway!

I think blue eyes are more popular than theyve ever been , I have several blue eyed babies including the stallion in my avatar, it seems the ones with dark rims are the most popular (Im english by the way LOL)

I agree Blue eyes are really catching on and anyways as the daughter of an artist and and hobby artist myself, the contrast in colours of Frodo or any blue eyed horse is an interesting portrait for anyone to see.

Awww... I expect to be marked down in the show world, but in art too? :booty
LOL. Just kidding! I have a Frodo Art Fan Club and have several pieces of art of him. Let me see what I have on this computer.
I'd love to see your work. Do you have a website?

Awww! I wanna add to the fan club! I keep meaning to draw both him and Corey, I love them! Those pieces are both super impressive! I wish I could do something like that!

TheRedHayflinger Fri, 07/09/2010 - 11:52

guess that is the good thing about my SSH mare...if you like blue eyes, look at her right side, if you like brown, just stay on her left..LOL

that needle felted Frodo is awesome!

I love it too. It's a Kirin. You can buy the blank and paint as you like. They're cool. There's griffins, winged wolves, unicorns, dragons and muses...
Soon to be winged cats and hippogryph I think...
Windstoneeditions.com and look under Paint Your Own in the store. Most are out of stock now as they're having casting problems.

Well that will wrap up the next few gifts for my daughter!

And I just gave my kiln away.... I think when I retire one day though and have time, I'm going to build a gas kiln out back. Seeing the horsehair pottery on Morgan's card link and now Kirin Frodo, makes me wish I had the time....one day. One day....
