Looks like I am going to be an Essex Girl !

.....well, after 2 weeks of negotiations they finally excepted our offer this morning so we are hopefully moving to Essex in the next few months. Will be very sad to leave here we love it but without the land we would struggle. We are moving a long way away but we will have a large 3 bed bungalow and 2.6 acres so that will be great to finally be a landowner. The house and land needs work on it and we will also put in Equestrian facilities as it has non - then we may very well sell and move back this way but that's going to take a while. All very scary and exciting too ! :D

Yay! An adventure! :bounce

...now I must admit...
When I read your title about being an "Essex Girl", my first thought was that you were going to be a model and/or spokesperson for a product or brand called "Essex", similar to "Cover Girl" here in the US.
I thought this, because I've SEEN your photos and I KNOW you are a beautiful woman and I was just CERTAIN you were getting into modeling and I was going to KNOW a supermodel/celebrity!
...being a homeowner will be satisfying, but I'd have still liked "knowing a model". :HB

Boy Heidi you just doubly made my day but you have not seen me recently !!! Being a Mummy takes it's toll on you - I now weigh just over 200lbs !!! Thanks though you can be my friend ANYTIME.xxxxxxxxxxxxx :D

If it makes you feel any better I will let you into a little secret though. It's my voice that is sort of famous not my face - I sung for the Queen of England and I am the voice of 'easyjet airlines' in the UK !...but that's it sorry.xxx

And Heidi, you DO know a model/actress - Morgan (Danger Ranch on the old forum). Granted she isn't doing Twilight/Vampire Dairies or Vogue/Cover Girl, YET, but she's getting there. :flower

I was 16 in a small choir of 6 and it was sea shanties - she tapped her foot to them !! I also spoke to the Duke of Edinburgh too afterwards. But I used to sing in a band when I was 19/20- I love singing. My Mum was a semi-professional Opera singer and my Dad's now partner (parents are divorced) was one of the BBC Singers a soloist used to see her on TV a lot, so am surrounded by good singers.

On the Queen, my other claim to fame was that I have installed a TV at Buckingham Palace ! ;) ....I used to work in Hi-Fi !

When you say "voice of easyjet", are you talking about commercials for the airline or the gal singing on the TV series??? Cuz if it's the TV series, OMG OMG OMG, I'm listening to you right now!!! :bounce :rofl :rofl :rofl

Awesome that you sang for the Queen! I'll be your favorite person this week! ...when someone does something *awesome* for me or just makes me feel good, I tell them: "You are my favorite person this week!" It always has to have a time-limit on it, because other people may become MFPTW so I'll need to bump them down in status for the new favorite person. ...and I didn't know Danger was an actress/model, I knew Krickette was trying out for a commercial, but I didn't know about Morgan. That is cool.

Nothing that glamourous I am afraid, I am what they call a 'voice talent' and at the moment I am the annoying voice you hear when you ring easyjet, I direct your call, it's quite a large telephone system though, the largest I have done. I have also done Transport for London's Oyster card - they are the well known in UK ones.

Thanks Heidi - you made my week too honey ! hugs.xxxxxxxxxx

Thanks HP, we do already look out to our horses but it's not our land...so we got used to it and decided we didn't want to be in this position again where we can lose our way of life and grazing if the situation changes. It's going to be weird to go out there knowing it's ours though - wow that will be amazing, not having to ask to move horses around ! Just hope it all continues to go through ok.

I would really like to be in that position, keep your eye out for me, firewind and I were looking in Essex the other day, but, as you know, land is expensive and like hen's teeth. We went up as far as Ipswich (which is in Suffolk for our colonial friend, not Essex...next county up, basically) before we found anything affordable....riding school with ten acres, a 13 stable, stable block and a menage. Nowhere to live, but, hey I can sleep in a stable......
Congratulations Amanda......it sounds perfect!! Where abouts in Essex will you be..I used to live in Basildon (yuk)?? RF you are going to be moving too??
LOL !!! Basildon !!!!!!!!!! :rofl :rofl The Five Bells are of it so south west not actually in Basildon though!!

Rf will do I have friends in Billericay too so will keep ears open how much land do you need???

rabbitsfizz Fri, 12/18/2009 - 13:44

Five acres absolute minimum, I would prefer ten.
I realise I shall not be able to buy this amount (I am actually looking at a barn conversion in Norfolk, with ten acres for £129,000!!!!!) I would be OK with leasing, so long as I had some sort of security.
I have a top amount of £250,000.00 so I don't think I have much hope.....
