Lights, Camera, Action!!

Cheesy subject title, I know. Anyway I thought it would be good to have a topic on cameras. What camera, lenses, and settings you use. If you post a picture post it with shutter speed, ISO, Flash/or no flash, Aperture, etc. I know there are many people, myself included, who are either photographers or are interested in becoming better photographers whether for personal use or lively hood. I won't post any pictures yet but will start with a question. ACC, you have been talking about how priceless your canon 70-200 2.8 is as far as lenses go. I have a EOS Canon rebel XT. I am wondering how compatible that lens would be with my camera and if it is worth buying it or should I wait until I have a different camera? Most places I have found it price it around $1600. One place has it for $1100 lens only or $1450 with extras. Here is the list of what it comes with. What on this list is a necessity and what could you do without. Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L EF IS USM Lens 77mm UV Filter 77mm Polarizer Filter 77mm FL-D Fluorescent Filter Close-up Professional Macro Filter Set (w/+1 +2 +4 +10 Macro Lenses) Deluxe Lens Care & Maintenance Package Capkeeper Deluxe Lens Hood Micro Fiber Cleaning Cloth Deluxe Lens Pouch Thanks in advance for any advice!!!!!

I've had an XTi since November 07 and love love love it. Unfortunately, all I have is a cheap 18-55 lens so I am very limited in what I can do with it. Mostly I just play around and photograph whatever catches my fancy. I would love to be able to do action shots, especially polo, but my lens is not good enough for it.

I went out and took some Spring pictures today. Perfect time really. Just after rain on a cloudy day brings out all the colors. :) They are a little darker then what I normally take but it gives a feeling like when you are actually there. Our place looks and feels like a jungle after rain. :laugh1

All the photographers must be really busy this week. Usually the photo threads generate a lot of comments! I don't know a thing about photography so I can't really join in but I do like to look at the photos. :)

I am too much of a greeny to post helpful comments on other peoples photos. But I do like the road photos. For my own reasons I like the movement of them. I know some people wouldn't see the movement in them, but for me I see them and I want to walk down the road and see that is just past the bend.

Thanks for posting them. And starting the topic, I am looking forward to learning

Thanks!!
I know what you mean!! I have always liked road photos for that very reason. you can put yourself there and they make you want to see more.
I've shot probably 4,000+ photos in the past 5 days... so yeah, I'm busy. :rofl
Wow!!! I think the most I have done in one day was 500+ for my cousins wedding. Where have you been shooting?

accphotography Tue, 04/28/2009 - 13:41

Rolex, Derby works and Lacy. I'm going to at least 3 farms this week that I'll want to shoot as well, then Derby, Oaks and the undercard this weekend. I'm going to be buried for a year.
