I'm bored, gimme pictures!

So, since this forum banner is a) huge and funny shaped, and b) hard to match with a good forum bg.... I kind of want to make a new one. So...what horses would be a good representation of our color-geneticyness? If you have a good quality (or even tweakable) pic, that you could give me permission to use, of a horse that you think would look good on a banner, I want to try to work on some today after work. I haven't photoshopped in forever! So yeah, that's it. Then maybe we'll have some to choose from. Thanks!

Well, you can use any of these guys; Lina, Song, and Imp are in the Sale section. Jet, Maestro, Breeze and Ironstone are available too. But none of them are particularly noteworthy in color, all bays, grey and chestnuts. I'll dig around for something better.

*Also, Slew's White Diamond in the Tobiano section can be used.

Krickette Fri, 07/17/2009 - 08:24

Thanks Maigray! I'll see if there's something I can use ^_^
and Lipi, I love that pic of applause, I will def. do something with it.

Jenks Fri, 07/17/2009 - 08:39

Do you think Gander might have a good one? Or ACC? Maybe they'll stop by? Jodi maybe too though she usually gets them under saddle.....

Krickette Fri, 07/17/2009 - 08:41

It'd be nice :bounce
I started something last night that I kinda like, I'm going to do a bunch probably, that way there are options, lol!

There are quite a few photos in the gallery that are open source. If you see something you like and its not credited to someone specific just ask about it.

Oh that first one is priceless! Can use that one when I want to say someone is showing their arse? lol! Or it could mean bite me~

There's a really neat one that Gander took of Cisco Kid (http://www.barbaralivingston.com/galler…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) that shows his frosting very well. But you'd have to get her permission, I think, to use it. I'm sure she wouldn't mind!

But my other idea...
Just got this horse from the auction on Saturday. At first sight and in poor lighting he appeared to be just a bay tobiano, but now I'm definitely seeing the buckskin tobiano, sabino, and splash that he really is! You can use any of his picture out of the album below. Infact, you can use any of my pictures really. I don't care one bit.

he is stunning and I want to draw him...lol

Krickette Mon, 07/27/2009 - 13:23

wow! he's a real looker! I haven't gotten to play with this as much as I wanted to, but I will have time for sure this week!

TwinCreeksFarm Tue, 07/28/2009 - 11:36

Lol thanks. :D Thing is he is nippy at the hands (screams "I'VE BEEN SPOLED, FEED ME TREATS!!!"), herd bound, and I've been told he bucks. We'll see. If he doesn't work out then I'm trading him for a cute little 17 year old white draft pony. Something that I know will pack the kiddies around, without a care. Thought I would give him a chance first though. He's cute, he moves cute, he's sound, and even when he's barreling at me in the field.. I don't feel threatened one bit. I don't think aggressive at all, just needs some guidance and a good whooping. Hopefully he'll work out!

Hayflinger... draw whatever you want! I don't mind. ;)

Morgan Tue, 07/28/2009 - 13:48

Oh, he's cute, I like him! but who the heck has been shoeing him? :laugh1 he's got canyon feet, might get a little shorter with a propper trim.

vneerland Tue, 07/28/2009 - 17:53
OMG. I'm getting so old I can't read the fine print....at all. NO matter how close or far I get.
It is never called old Jenks. Just 'mature'.
And the trick is to act cool, not mention a thing and just hit 'quote'.
That will take you to the post in normal size. ;)
It looks a lot better like this:
Oh, he's cute, I like him! but who the heck has been shoeing him? :laugh1 he's got canyon feet, might get a little shorter with a propper trim.
We got him from the auction on Saturday, and the pictures were taken Sunday! :rofl No one I know, that's for sure. I'm not one for shoes anyhow. :booty
Had my corrective farrier look at him, briefly, and said he could do some good work on him. But I'm waiting to see if he works out before tearing the shoes off and giving him a proper trim. My deadline for this is probably the weeknd of the 8th-9th.
