ID tags!

Re: ID tags!
haha, yeah, I didn't worry about blurring the # since bots cant read pictures and it doesn't have my area code.
Got your pm Critter, I'll get to work on one!
And Hayflinger, if you want one right now they're free since yall are just giving me practice, I'll probably do like 5 or so freebies, but if you want to cover shipping that'd be lovely!
Once I get good at them and have better materials I think I'll sell them for like $10 or so, but I don't feel comfortable charging for something that I'm not super confident at haha
Re: ID tags!
Thanks!!! I'm glad yall like them, really! I have already invested in this little project, so it feels good to know that people actually think they're decent.
I'm hoping that I can set up a shop online and sell some. I also want to make some ready made charms that say simple generic things like "bad dog" "pet me" that sort of stuff, and put it at the local pet shop. And maybe have a form where people can put in custom orders.... Still have to talk to them though and see if they'd allow it.
How much do you think I can charge for these? I'm thinking like $10 or so, maybe more for the ones with charms or just less for the ones without. Then if I sell like 10 of them I'll be able to afford a really cute font, which I could charge a smidge extra for!
Re: ID tags!
haha, probably not the best plan! I'm making a necklace for my friend, which is exciting. Just bought the charm for it today. In the past 2 days I've bought a bunch of copper and aluminum blanks, a bunch of charms, some blanks that look like guitar picks, and 4 design stamps! I'll be able to do a spiral, a fluer de lis, a starburst, and a squiggly line with some dots!
Re: ID tags!
Awesome!
Also, I made another tag just now! It's still out of my crappy material, can't wait till I get my new stuff in.

It's a bit thin, so I did two layers...I just wish I had a soldering gun so I could make sure it wouldn't come undone.
Re: ID tags!
Yeah, I think Glenn has 2 or 3, so hoping I can just steal one of his ;)
I already have silver solder from when I had him fix my earrings.... but I'd want cheaper for this stuff.
Also, more tags!!!!

For my friend's two dogs for christmas, Daisy and her daughter, Dingo. Not sure I like the silver charm with Dingo's tag, but it's all I got

Just wanted to say that I made an Etsy!

took some "pretty" pictures... i dunno, i cant get my stupid camera to focus...
Re: ID tags!
Thanks y'all! It's really encouraging to know people like them! I am waiting anxiously for my new materials to come in. What I'm making stuff out of now is fine for a dog and cat, but I want something more substantial for a halter. I'm actually going to look into those nameplates that you can screw into a halter, once I get a pretty font. I got some pretty designs in the mail today! I have a fleur de lis but it's very difficult to stamp, I need to play with it more. I also got a spiral, a squiggly line, and a starburst thingy (*)
I have to come up with something for these eyelets though. The metallic ones are fine, but the one on the go fetch tag and the one for Zoot are both getting torn up. I'm going to get some sort of sealant or something.
Re: ID tags!
It would be awesome if you could do abstract shapes too!! Like this but a little less on the edges:

Just some random shapes.
Re: ID tags!
The aluminum I can do in whatever shapes I can manage to cut. only problem is getting two cut exactly the same so I can make two layers. Plus the fact that I'm using scissors and not tin snips >.<
I did cut a pretty cute heart, but its a little too bendy, I think I'm going to add another layer to it.
Re: ID tags!
That's very cool Krickette! I'd love one but I'm in Oz :(
