Due to decreasing use over the years, I have decided to disable the forum functionality of the site.

Forums will still be available to view but new posts are no longer allowed.

I will be making a change to the structure of the site for search engine optimization

I have been doing research on search engine optimization and have come to the conclusion that I made a mistake when I structured the site using sub-domains (ie the equine.colorgenetics.info). Because of the way the google operates it treats each site as a separate site instead of as parts of the same site. This divides the search engine goodness between the sites instead of combining them. This was something I simply didn't understand when I structured the site the way I did. (Well truthfully, I also didn't realize I had an another option with the content system I use.) Oh well live and learn. The better way to structure things with search engines is to place the different sites in sub-directories. This tells google that all the sites are different areas within the main site (which is what I wanted to accomplish with the subdomains). So tomorrow I will be doing a change to the url structure of the site. You will still be able to access the site with equine.colorgenetics.info but it will redirect to colorgenetics.info/equine. The forum will be colorgenetics.info/equine/forum If we decide to combine the forums (which I think is a really good idea) the combined forum would be at colorgenetics.info/forum So I appreciate your patience with me as I learn all this stuff about search engines. The main objective is to grow the site. Summary: I will be changing the site from equine.colorgenetics.info to colorgenetics.info/equine (The old url will redirect to the new one)
