Have I mentioned that I love you guys?

Yep I read that one. The most recent pain is this thread on LWO http://www.horseforum.com/horse-colors-…
At least there are a few other posters who know what they are talking about.

I red through it, and I guess I've seen worse when it comes to LWO. I mean look at me when I fist came here. I mean I did a huge science fair project, tons of research on the gene. Even talked with the researchers who developed the test. Not one single article I had a copy of, or even a webpage at the time mentioned testing solid colored horses. Even the breeders I interviewed who had tested horses, never sent in samples of their solid breeding stock. But this was from...almost 10 years ago?
What I don't like in that thread however, is how one person feels that breeding colored horses is some how bad, and tied into disorders. And while I've heard the term 'Color Breeder' thrown around for years, lets face it. It's not a color breeding problem, it's a selective breeding problem lol.
Your horse wasn't blind because he was a cremello or a very light palomino.
At first it wasn't too bad,
At first it wasn't too bad, but then my mind exploded.

Krazy Kolor Breeder is a favourite FHOTDism for me.
That and Hideozygous!
I started asking questions as soon as I realised how little I knew, which was around forty years ago when I got a Cremello from a Palomino X Grey!
Course it's simple, now, now we are into asking how "solid" X "solid" can = Appy! Or, sadly, LW foal.
What did we do before DNA??????
Has the Cream Arab thread evolved? I thought the Arab Board was quite good and I find them nasty and clicky usually, but they were polite but firm, I thought!
Oh and we love you too, not all mods would put up with the amount of bickering that breaks out spasmodically on here!!
Try disagreeing with someone, anyone, on LB, sometime!
There is a thread there on Falabellas I am not touching with a plastic covered, fifteen foot, bargepole.
Tell me how you can DNA a Falabella to tell that it is a "purebred" Falabella when there has been outside blood put in, by the Falabellas, in the last fifty years?
Bit like the Arabs, except no-one is claiming to be able to prove their "purity" with DNA (For which I am eternally grateful!)
And how the hell do I get my avatar picture to change- it keeps reappearing!!!!!
Whaaaaat?????? Could you try
Whaaaaat??????
Could you try that again in idiot speak, please?????
Apparently the picture I am attempting to upload is not enough pixels, but the picture that is uploaded is on my picture site too, so?????
Also, I have it on photobucket but this site will not accept that???
UGH
Internet Browsers
Internet Browsers automatically save images on websites to enable faster page load times (the servers themselves do some of this also). This works well because it's faster to load an image from your computer than from the internet. The more a browser can save the faster the webpage "feels" because the browser is actually downloading less information. The problems start when you try to change an image that has been saved ie an avatar. The browser or web server doesn't check to see if the image has changed. It only reloads the image after the cache time (time to save the image) set for the image has expired.
The shift click trick only works for the page you are on when you hit refresh but it does let you know if it is your browser that is caching the image or if it is cached somewhere else ie the server. The shift refresh tells the browser to forget the cache time and reload all the images on that particular page.
If it is your browser you have a couple of options. You can 1) clear your browser cache (I can help if you let me know your browser make and model). 2) Wait for the cache to expire (that would be probably a week or so). 3) Hit click refresh on every page on the site.
Rabbit, I read your posts on forums and fugly long before I ever joined any and I always remembered you because of your words and his picture. If you ever change to a different horse it's going to be weird.
Oh, yes indeed. On LB, we have had the original "Rabbit" forever. Until today.

I like to believe that I keep an open mind when it comes to science, as it's always changing. So i'm always up to learning that what I once thought isn't current, or has been dissproven. Unfortuntally that's not the case in many places. If it has been written, it must be right!
