Evacuation help needed

Okay folks, I've a friend who lives coastal eastern Florida (titusville) who is in line to get hit by Hurricane Irene. He needs a place where he can evacuate 3 horses to should the need arise. Any ideas/help? Diane

Yes please!! He is on facebook, as well...he just sent me a message that he's getting scared, so I'm thinking this is kind of serious weather.

Looks like they will be ok, we dont evacuate anymore, did it to many times in 04, we found out we were always better off at home compared to where we wnt every time. Just halter up the horses with info ducted taped on the cheek of the halter with sharpie that says info on it get cow body markers and let them care for themselves.

Yea, I don't blame your friend for getting nervous...she is getting to be a very dangerous storm...I am just glad that a cold front is coming in to push her off the Carolina cost (earlier perdictions had her eye passing within 60 miles of here - too close for comfort in a Cat. 4 storm)

They're between the ocean and the Intercoastal...***I'd*** be evacuating. That part of Florida is easily sea level or lower.

Glad he found a place! Normally we'd be more than willing to offer a place but we're in such a bad drought there's just no pasture at all.

Luckily, they didn't have to evacuate in the end. The worst thing is, they had just gotten a horse delivered from Canada the night before Irene was predicted to hit Florida.
