Re: EEeeeeep!
That is wonderful...which island? Oh, I know you are gonna love it - nothing beats riding along the beach...It is a bit pricy and can be downright expensive as most things must be "imported" and the whole place is a tourist attaction....lol.
just be prepared for the near daily rain showers around noon/1 p.m. Fortunately those showers only last a short time before the sun pops back out (with the constant prevailing winds, it isn't nearly as humid as say Alabama or Mississippi). Oh and don't forget to visit all those lovely lush waterfalls and parks (just remember, Dole is a bit feisty about it's pineapple fields)...
Re: EEeeeeep!
A girl is going out to ride Dusty today.
Noooo, I want to say goodbye! :(( That's my baby...I've had him since I was 15 and he was 2. New owner BETTER be nice! lol Maybe it's best that I'm not home right now...
Edit: so dooblebug has a home with an 11 year old girl :) I'll get to go see him when I get back but it sounds like the perfect place for him. He loves being doted on. :rofl
Now trying to find a place to board V over there. I know land is tight so I'm not sure how hard it will be to find a place with decent turnout time.
Re: EEeeeeep!
You met the Wolphin? <3 My 6th birthday was at sealife park and I got a kiss from a whiskery wet sea lion.
The horses are finding homes fast. Sissy and Chase are likely going to Texas together to a really nice lady through the deaf horse association. and the other two have people interested as well. See I KNEW they were all good horses, everyone wants them lol...(actually Sissy I've been turning down offers for years).
There are also some really nice boarding places around, the trick now is to pick one! I'm trying to get recommendations. The vet wasn't much help though, he sent me two nice farms on the north shore lol (too far) but there's a nice family run place in Waianae which is where we'll likely live. They have 12x24 partially enclosed stalls with 14 ft run, which is my bare minimum requirement for V. I really want to find a place where she can live in a herd like she always has...
Re: EEeeeeep!
I hate long distance boarding shopping...... :BH
Need opinion: there's an 800 acre field with a herd of 40 horses on it for $60 a month. It's that or a stall and nothing for $250.
Ermmm...... :?
I'm thinking of going in with the stall (which is self care splitting rent on a 3 stall barn with a nice lady) for 1 month and visiting the pasture when I'm there to check it out.
I was worried at first about the 800 acres being so...BIG but I've talked to a friend who keeps hers on 1500 and she has no trouble catching, and V is such a nosy ham anyway as long as I'm on time regularly I think she'll be fine. There's just no way I'm keeping her stalled for more than a couple weeks. (the only turnout is in the arena while you're there)
It's so frustrating that I can't find middle ground. It got to where I sent this as a joke to my mom, a house lot, it's bigger than a stall and likely cheaper. :rofl

Re: EEeeeeep!
Yeah, I'd probably go with the 800. When we turn ours out on the 400 we usually don't have a problem catching them and finding them, especially if we go looking at dinner time, haha! They know the 4wheeler means food. I mean we have more trouble than most just because when we turn out like that it's like a treat for them, its not their usual pasture.
But yeah, I'd check it out at least. And that land might actually not be a terrible idea, provided you'll be there long enough to justify it.
Re: EEeeeeep!
Whew, finally everything is lining up. Nice farm up north shore with a quarantine pen, then turnout in a pasture after the 45 days. Got the transporter to driver her from the plane to the farm. Got the plane. Now just waiting on absolute details on who's picking her up from my house and taking her to LA :S (pacific airlift is suposed to be taking care of that end but keep having to nudge her). Oh and some stuff from the vet which noones been entirely too clear on. :hammer
I still don't know where I will be living.
Re: EEeeeeep!
Oh thanks! You are a wonderful artist.
I have an apartment now (signed the papers last night) and I will moving in in a few weeks as soon as the dog is placed and we are packed up, everything else is nearly done. V gets shipped on Sunday, I have my last client on Monday
Re: EEeeeeep!
Wow congrats !!
