Champ is at his new home

in California. He left here Saturday a full week before they were supposed to pick him up. I had no idea they were picking him up until they called me Friday evening telling me they were picking him up on Friday. I told them his health papers were at the vets and I was supposed to pick them up in the morning so they might want to wait until then. He agreed:-) On Saturday the shipper arrived and said I have to move a couple horses so we can load him and opened the back only to find the GIANT palomino had unhooked his lead rope and let him self in with the mare he was traveling with and untied her enough that they both jumped out as soon as trailer opened. The black mare was still kinda tied so the young man got her and tied her to the side of the trailer while this beautiful gaited 17 hand tall horse gaited about my small pasture Of course all my mares decided to come up and try to gait with him but being stock horses they just did not have the gaits down. I have never seen a non draft horse as tall as this guy was. I tried to find out what breed he was but the shipper had no idea. He moved like a saddle bred to me but the only gaited horses i am around are Peruvians so I do not know much about other breeds. After a romp about he caught him and brought out a black silver (also gaited) and an ornery gray Arabian mare. My big fear was Champ would gait when he got to California. Champ loaded like a dream and I got some cute pics of him waiting for every one else to get loaded back and leaving. I was so sad to see him go but i know if I want to breed then I have to part with some too. :sad Saying goodbye is the hardest part (rather be drug by wild horses :BH ) but he will be happy and enjoy his new family...all the while, retaining fond memories of his first home... :love
Oh ok! What are they planning to do with him? Sorry if you already said. xD
He is homozygous champagne so they want to show him and breed him later.
